I'm about to replace my neighbours who has no access to under his bath so I plan to drill small holes in the panel and screwed it to the batten in the corners using screw caps and washers to make them water tight then apply a bead of sealant along top and bottom of thr panel so if they need to remove it you can unscrew it and replace the sealant afterwards cheaply. Anyone with experience tell me if that'll do? Or shall i just stick the panel to the batten like this and be done with it
@MrandMrsDIY6 күн бұрын
Yes a batten would be easier to remove, alternatively you can just a low mod sealant which can be pulled away easier

First time I’ve ever seen siliconing advice to leave the excess until it dries and ‘just clean it off’. It’s an absolute nightmare to remove silicone carefully when it’s dried! I’d advise anyone watching not to do this. Use a proper shaping tool which removes the excess as well as creating a nice finish
@MrandMrsDIY11 күн бұрын
Use a silicone wipe if you get any excess on the tiles, cheers
@philgornall11 күн бұрын
@@MrandMrsDIY after it dries? That won’t work. It was probably just a mistake in the video, you clearly said to wait until it dries to wipe off which obviously isn’t right, needs to be done as soon as possible before it dries.

UPDATE - just spent 5 hours using my sprayer and *it was epic* I've perfected my technique and preparation - and it's all in the mixture - it needs to be runny - not gloopy - that's what was causing the blockage - you live and learn. Five hours of perfect spraying, credit where it's due.
