Magic apps always leave me worried, as I’m relying on the tech, a card or coin can’t go wrong any failure with those tricks is down to me , gutted when a trick fails because my phone locked up or crashed etc.

Magic Apps are good as long as they are not too expensive for me as a hobbyist. Annoying when they are forgotten about and not updated and therefore no longer work.

I do magic and vent just for kids, and I think Mr. Gloves should be great for a kids parlor show or strolling, but it may actually go down better for adults.

like about apps: it is part of every day item. dislike: there is always a sort of taste that it is technology, only...

Don't get the hype with Liquify. Just to easy to figure out. Friend watching it with no magic background picked up on the finger gimmick right away and then the change.

Love the show and love phone app magic (as long as it's iPhone 🙂). It takes something we all have in our pockets and makes something magical happen. Doesn't get much better than that!

I love magic apps, especially ones where the magician’s phone is seemingly out of sight or not even in play. I’ve seen numerous magicians making comments that dismiss magic apps because they think it’s too obvious to the spectators that there’s tech in play and therefore it’s not fooling. These magicians are fooling themselves and denying themselves amazing tools that can be used to create miracles in people’s minds (when used properly).

Great show as always....Immediately ordered Liquify ( Merchant of Magic stlll have a few left ) based on your comments that if you could do the old "Thimble" moves then Liquify will be easier to pick up and master :) I love Magic Apps and incorporate a couple into my close up magic on a regular basis.....but the best ones are the ones that don't scream APP.....After all it's magic :) and there's always been a thin line between what's magic and what's technology that is just not understood yet :)

What I dislike about magic apps is that apps do too much. I would rather have a choice of a million apps that do one thing, over a handful that do a million things. Their complexity eliminates their effectiveness by creating more process. But, I get that amateurs want more bang for their buck.

Liquify is NOT hard to pull off if you have any experience with palming of any kind. Your audience certainly won't understand what's going on. Remember, the mind processes what it sees based on what it believes it's seeing. Also, if you have any experience working with silicone plastique, you can make any number and color of your own gimmicks.

Apps are the most devisive magic. It already makes all the IPhone users look like the rest of us are getting off the short bus. One day our phones may get along once the AI overlords take over. So Apps will be great for magicians to appease our future rulers!

I used to stay away from app magic as I always thought like a lot of others that spectators would think it’s just an app. I recently tried out RDigit and have got some amazing reactions. I have now caught the app bug and use WikiTest, Earworm, Inject & RealList. I have come to the conclusion that as long as your audience is having fun and being entertained does it really matter if they think you might be using an app. After all, if you show them a card trick they probably think you are using sleight of hand.

I agree with the perfect ratings by the 3 Wizards on Liquify. It is true that one of the principles used to achieve the illusion involves the ring thing move but it requires the correct blocking and angles of the fingers to hide the dirty work. Look for the Garret Thomas’ instructional/magic tips video which goes with Ian Bailey’s KeyRing and you will understand what Iam trying to point out. Don’t be mislead by a simple move in its simplicity. Look at Liquify and appreciate it in its entirety and you will never regret that you gave it a try.
