Hiya, im half Orcadian myself, (biological father), i hope you get your Nordic alliance again, because both Scotland and the UK governments just seem to leave Orkney, the hebredies, and Shetland islands on the back burner, Id say go with Norway 🇳🇴, Sweden 🇸🇪, Denmark 🇩🇰, or Finland 🇫🇮. Be stronger with your mother country as an anglo-viking ❤😊 the Faroes 🇫🇴 have done it with both Iceland 🇮🇸 and Greenland 🇬🇱, i believe. I'll even back yourselves a vote 🗳 ❤ Nørse-Ørkneyǰar 🇳🇴 ❤

Sounds as though there is a good community spirit up there which is so important. Good luck to the trust and everyone there! Hope to visit one day. Have been to Orkney a few times but not North Ron.

@OrkneyIslandsCouncil Thank you for posting Covener Graham Bevan’s superb 2023 Christmas Address. It was atop my sub’ feed this morning; beginning my winter solstice day with meaningful, moving content for contemplation. It was also a lovely reminder to slow down on this day of darkness to reflect on the past year and consider the coming days ahead. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2024!
