Hi Michelle! It’s so nice to meet you. I think a lot of us multi-craftual folks circle back and forth between all our crafty hobbies. I like to hand sew, knit, cross stitch, and embroider. I’m so sorry for your loss of your mother. But I love hearing of all y’all’s fun crafting memories. I would restart the Christmas project on a bigger piece of fabric.

I think the deer would be wonderful in blue. Merry Christmas I would probably scrap it and begin again. Besides the 18" finished length you have to have an allowance for framing or finishing. Usually add 2" to each side, so your piece would need to be 22 inches, if I'm understanding correctly. I began stitching a long time ago, and recently returned to it after about 20 years. The new Cross Stitch world is amazing. I'd say find something you really like to work on, and put the others you're unsure about in "time-out" until you've gained some experience. Happy Stitching!

Loooove the vest pattern actually! Some super nice picks, I didn't take note but few of the dresses I'd love to attempt as well! I am a super beginner still so still a while to go but I'd love to hear your reviews on these patterns as you sew, or right after completing those projects! :D
