Appreciate the video Eric as I am about to make some rigs. Your other video showed plastic tubing over the knot and it would really be a good place for scent. I am curious though which knot do you tie the hook with?

thanks i use the trilene knot with trebles and improved palomar with singles. starting to think the 2 single hook rig might have a place. plan on testing it out in a few weeks. spring season 2024

I not only had never shot video of myself fishing, in my strange thought process, I was trying to catch a fish on every spoon I owned maybe not the best idea. There were many hurdles and the fish were really scattered making for some tough days. Still I had a great time just getting out on the water and learning new things.
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
If someone wanted to try this on the cheap you could spool a reel that could handle 30# braid and a rod (the longer the better) that would also, normally above where the reel mounts it gives a line weight on the rod, buy a 82 mm deeper diver (the bigger divers pull much harder you need more expensive gear to use them), a chrome 8 inch flasher and, one or 2 spoons, most tackle shops are forth coming with info on what's working in the area. I would think brand new for around 120.00 you could buy this list. Then just hit the water and pull it around 1.5 to 2.5 mph it helps to take a look at the depth chart for the lake you are on if you don't have a depth finder. Some boats won't run this slow whole other deal but check before you buy.
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
This fish was caught just seconds after #3 on June 12th 2021, it was the last fish of the trip went out 4 more times with no luck at all a few rises on the depth finder but no takers.
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
This fish was caught well hooked not really caught on June 12th 2021, as you can see the pressure on the fish when he throws the hook causes the lure to fly pretty fast, don't get in the way of it, really big hooks. This happens more than you would think the fish see the boat and freak out just be ready for it. On this trip before I was filming the action it happened 2 other times these smaller fish come in super green (very active, not tired) best to net them, some of times you might only have 1 hook in them and the hole becomes loose making it very easy for them to throw the hook.
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
This fish was caught on June 8th 2021, around noon was getting most of the bites when I was zig zagging the boat along a depth line I would run down in the 60 foot range then back in the 80 foot range. Still the fishing was pretty slow.
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
This was in fact a steelhead (stocked rainbow) it surprised me a bit they don't tend to hit the non orange stuff but I learned something this trip. They really had a thing for lures that were white and chrome although I did catch a few on the normal orange stuff

This fish was caught around 10am June 8th 2021. Was a bit better than the first laker and had to keep him because of the hook damage.

This fish was caught on June 2nd 2021 around 10am as you can see very aggressive biter quite small for the lure he hit
@ericsadventuresfishing88323 жыл бұрын
This was shot June 11th and 12th 2021, the fishing had really gotten tough by this point with bites few and far between. I was throwing the kitchen sink at them with few takers. Been working on ideas on how to improve the catch rate picked up a few new bits of tackle and going to rig a 6 and a 4 color lead core more stealthy maybe? Looking forward to getting back up there to give it another shot.
