Most overrated (if not telling "overvalued"): - The God Particle 🤣 - FabFilter Pro-Q - all the Soundtoys stuff - Soothe2 - Trackspacer (people are blind to find DSM V3 or free Spectral Compressor) Most underrated: - DSM V3 - Zip by Unfiltered audio - Acon Digital stuff - RMSC - XCTR v3 - LISA eq by TOMO Audio P.S.: I'm not tied by lobbying or loyalty with devs so I can say that 😝
@xanderpills2 күн бұрын
Have to say that Fabfilter Pro-Q with an Apple Mouse is incredible. You do one sweep with a mouse and you're done for the day. It has a smooth scrolling so you can adjust the Q as you go. It's amazing
@OCTO8R2 күн бұрын
@@xanderpills have to admit, I made this list out of proportion between included features, evident result of vst's processing and... PRICE. 🙄 There are alternatives with less price and sometimes more features. Pro-Q is the best of course but not for these money. What about Apulsoft, Toneboosters, UVI Shade. Plus, we shouldn't discount that fact that now DAW devs are implementing deeper modulation into the workflow. As a user of Bitwig I can make any EQ dynamic. 😶🌫So... after looking around the industry, the price of 179$ for EQ seems... a bit strange I think 😟
@xanderpills2 күн бұрын
@ That argument would've been valid unless FF hadn't just released their fourth edition of the Pro-Q which features, well, everything you need from spectral features, saturating bands, to, damn, whatever, really. But you are right: they *did* get a bit old, and there definitely are great alternatives. They just topped up the game again.

Some underrated, or at least not well enough known are Otto 11 11 11 amp, absolutely killer and for high-gain kicks many NDSP amp to the curb, much as I like them too. And for mixing, DMG TrackComp 2 a desert island comp for how useful it is. TDR Arbiter, great for de-essing and control of high-end. For saturation, I really like Softube Overstayer M.A.S., Not as well known because it's niche, and they price it quite high, and rarely discount it by much. But when discounted, worth trying, and grabbing with both hands if it's to taste. Newfangled Invigorate is great for dialing in saturation too. Even if it's not my standard EQ, Sonox Claro is actually very good, and pretty affordable.
