The diagonal is not 35 mm, 35mm is the width of the entire film with the sprocket holes.

One of the advantages to the SLR was the interchangeable lenses. You didn't have to customers tune each different lens for each camera like you have to do with most rangefinder. Essentially, if you wanted different lenses for your rangefinder camera, you had to give the camera serial number to the manufacturer to get a lens that is specifically tuned and focused for your individual camera.

They need to remake this camera with 3D printed recyclable ABS, Aluminum, and Silicon and make a water resistant $100-$200 version with all glass lenses that is not only better because of modern advancements in manufacturing and design. But also this camera would simply get the job done with a modern twist. Just imagine

Olympus OMs are awesome but both OM-1 and OM-2n I recently picked up had the prism rot 😢 So I would actually recommend the OM-4: huge jump in capability for not that much more money

I have an earlier VT and I love the 1.8 50mm I have on it. It's so damn sharp and outside of the rangefinder being dirty it's dead accurate

I have one of these from a thrift store but about everything that could go wrong with it did. Rangefinder out of alignment, shutter doesn't trigger reliably, Film advance unreliable. It's an amazing camera for the pocket but doesn't seem to be as reliable as I'd hoped.
