I remember Rod and how funny his routine with emu was. This is the first time I’ve seen him in decades and it’s still funny as hell. Great comedy is timeless.

I remember watching that one the night it ran, and laughed my feathers off. Now, post the one where Ed McMahon did something similar when Johnny took his bottle away...

I always assumed that Rod Hull and Emu where a purely British thing, I never imagined that it would be taken to the US

The best blues/rock singer ever in my opinion. Her voice is so full of passion, feeling and emotion. It often turns out that the best singers are the ones who had troubled lives; Billie Holliday and Tina Turner being two classic examples.

The most pathetic, embarrassing "act" I've ever seen on TV, Rod Hull was about as funny as sh*tt*ng in your hand and clapping. His act was the same through all the years he was around, people laughed out of embarrassment and fear that they would be next to be attacked. Why he got invited onto chat shows I will never know. I can think of far better ventriloquists whose characters were just as believable but without the stupidity.

Emu did the same thing with Parkinson. So funny. I can remember Rod playing Constable Clot in the 1960s.

Would've loved to have seen her perform playing an electric guitar. That would've been an amazing gift to future generations of female electric guitarists. As it is , she left us all an amazing gift of the power of her voice, her presence, her soul.

Goddamn that was intense. 54 years and i was trying to think of ways to help her not take that last shot. Let her know how loved she was. So fucking sad and yet she changed everything. Three generations later and we are still reaping the benefits of her sacrifice.
