Tysm! I'll definitely say open mics have been the best way I've been able to improve, not just on guitar/vocals but for stage presence and confidence as well. Don't sleep on open mics!

I agree tbh! I think a majority of my time has been spent on guitar playing and learning songs instead of formal voice training so that may be the route I go next. Glad you enjoyed it!

I appreciate the love! I always try and position myself at least 100ft away from any entrance, but either way I never got hassled by anyone. I forget if I mentioned it somewhere but sometimes when I see an ice cream/convenience vendor on the boardwalk itself, I'll ask them if theyre okay with me setting up nearby and they usually dont have a problem with it. It's great because most families will go there to buy something, have some spare change, only to hear me in the background and tip the leftover change in my jar. Everyone wins :)

I've thought about it a bunch but still trying to figure out the logistics of it. I know in Town Center there's the center square area that I could set up (although I dont know if those are technically business grounds), and still trying to find a decent spot in Norfolk and Ghent.

A lot of the family on my Mom's side were percussionists (marching band, DCI, rock/classical bands), and through that I picked up being a percussionist when I was in 3rd grade, continuing that route all the way through high school. Oddly enough it was only until sometime in 2022 that I picked up Bass guitar, then acoustic guitar in January 2023 to break away and try something different and I just fell in love with it. Nowadays I very much play guitar and sing more than I do percussion stuff and it seems like it's working for me so far!
