Turn it off for 30 min? What? Ha

I replaced the belt, got the belt from the manufacturer after trying a belt from Amazon. The first new belt the vacuum shook violently and smelled awful. THe manufacturer assured me the right belt was being sent, and it is a style 5 Royal belt, but it still shakes violently so I can't safely use it. So I guess something else is off with my vacuum. I have had it since at least 2017. Any ideas on what the issue is that causes it to shake?

Well, I just bought one yesterday, August 7th 2024, and before charging I used it for about a minute, then it shut down. I've been charging it for HOURS, and it won't even TURN ON!! My Power switch won't go up (to turn off) or down, (to turn on) It's more of a PUSH power button, but NO Blue light, unless I'm pressing it, and it blinks a few times then NOTHING!! And now I learn a 6 HOUR CHARGE, ONLY LASTS ABOUT 12 TO 15 MINUTES??????? I'll be getting my money back soon and going with another brand!!

Ive been using my dirt devil for 2 years now. Never a problem. Now, it just stopped working, it wont charge. I've had it charging for 6 hours, not one light.

Mine breaks about once per week. I have to take it apart. the rubber band is smoking out of the machine.

My brush won't stay on 😢 It keep falling off.

This dirt devil is a piece of crap and a waste of money. I purchased it from walmart and the brush literally stopped spinning the first time i used it. Customer service is also trash and not helpful. Do yourself a favor and get a bissell. Bissell is much better

I'll add, I've had my DirtD PowerMax for more than a year now and it does still work, but the quality of how it was made or the plastic used or maybe even the thickness has had me having to take it apart over and over and over again. And I'm thinking it won't last much longer with the way the wheels flay out. It's like the base can't really support the weight of the vacuum. Not to mention, the belt guide broke within the first 2 weeks of use. Soooo... yeah... maybe try to design the parts (like the whole base) in a way that they are significantly sturdier, thicker, better plastic, or whatever it takes. I'm not saying they should be built to survive a rock guitar smash or anything, but maybe I should be able to push it across the floor on its recommended height setting and not break the base on its 5th use?

I'm just saying... they could have covered all of what they said the first go round... "clogged? Do steps 1,2,3, etc.. low suction? Let's start over and do the same thing and record it and add check for clogs in there again. Doesn't turn on? Do steps 1,2,3,etc..... brush won't spin? Check for clogs! If it still isn't working, you may want to check to see if it's clogged approximately 10 more times." 🤦‍♀️ It was almost helpful in the beginning I guess..

It’s garbage. Blows dust out both external vents. I contacted dirt devil directly and the customer service said they won’t honour warranty but give me a discount on another product.

you guys are idiots or something. had this vacuum three years now and this is the first time it’s clogged up, followed the instructions on this video and cleared out all the debris clogging the suction hole behind the brushes and whala- like new again.

the powermax pet that i have doesn’t have an accessible exhaust filter. the panel is smaller and there’s not tab. is there a way to remove this and clean the exhaust filter?

This is not old people friendly if you don't have strength in your hands when it comes to taking it apart to dump dirt cup. My 85 year old mom couldn't get it apart and I (64) struggled with it.

These crap machines only last a year and then fall apart. I'm never buying a Hoover or Dust Devil again. I could have gotten the fancy Dyson for the money I spent every year on crap vacuums. No one is taking business from these companies. Their raggedy products ensure they lose business.

If the brush won't roll it is due to the plastic over the stem of the motor. The stem end is flat . The plastic dented capping that covers the motor stem to lead the strap fits on that flat stem end. When operating the vacuum the flat metal stem is breacking the half circle in the plastic and makes a perfect circle so the platic cover can't train the strap anymore. They don't sell that piece and makes your vacuum unuseable. A perfect exemple of what pollution is from great companies. A $0.03 value send all that vacuum to garbage. You could have done this piece made out of metal and make it durable.

Listen I don’t have 24 hours to let a filter dry when I have to suck up a spider in the corner of my ceiling! Used this vacuum for a month and it does not suck up even a piece of lint!

what can i do if i lost the filter housing for the dirt cup?

We just bought one and after one use, it became apparent it was far from a good vacuum. The main problem was the tiny cone-shaped filter clogged up very quickly ( less than 3 minutes on our car floor) resulting in a very feeble suction. Clean the filter every 5 minutes? Even when the filter is clean the suction is only ho-hum. The battery is pretty short-lived ( less than 15 minutes) too with a long ( 3 hour) recharge time. The crevice tool is pretty nice tho and the vac is well balanced overall.
