The spirit of Ireland and Scotland is a cry for freedom and a dance for victory. Aye. I wept. I wept in memory and in honor of those who fought for their independence. I wept for the little ones who have suffered the burden of war. I wept for the meek who have been robbed of their justice. Aye. I wept for the Lord and His undying love. Thank you for uploading this majestic video that we may search deeply our conscience and our soul to find the answer. Aye. The answer is love always. Amen

Nice ! But man, drop the popish voicing, this song is way above that crap, just sing it with the soul of your voice and playing and let the magic do its tricks. Anything else is just chewing gum, it empties it of its essence.

From India but I feel this is my music, I feel the Irish are my people. I see myself playing this on a highland dressed a Scotsman. I do not know why but I have such love for the Scots and Irish and their pipes, especially Uillean pipes

oh mate you're such a good player, I'll be using you both as a reference for Aisling Gheal and the Choice Wife now! Both of these are tunes that I've been working on for a few months now!

I play aisling gheal on feadog whilst humming the drone, and then I go straight into singing the song. I continue the drone on cello. When I hum while whilstling it makes my tin whistle sound more nasal, a lot more like an uillean pipe. I have never heard anyone vocalise while playing whistle before. I use this as a reference! :)

Listening to this repeatedly with the D-Day 80th Anniversary live from Normandy, HMS Belfast next to the Tower of London and associated places on the BBC on in the background. The two blend beautifully. Lovely piping.

Smashing rendition of both pieces! I've seen and heard the masters play both in the past 50 years and this is right up there with the very finest performances.

ahhh the man is nervous coz the camera. A slow aire should be .. slow .. and he rushed - despite his own mastery. Hey Steve? Look at mickeY dunne .. he gets the beat of peace before he plays? As for the O'Farrels? Beautiful!! That tune (the wet pussy) has to be played from the balls. And you got them! Thank you!

Five years before I discovered this wonder!? Euterpe would approve of this rendering on an instrument capable of producing magic in the proper hands - and Steven Johnston surely has them. Thank you Steven, and the producers of this video. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🌈

German pensioner, 64 years old, must have lived in Ireland in some past life, because this instrument and music speaks to me deep in my soul. I have never been to Ireland, but THIS is definitely my music. Too bad there is not more of it, especially on CD. Thank you to the artist for putting this on KZbin and letting me/us share it.

Lieber S.R. Sie werden erfreut sein zu erfahren, dass auf KZbin und allen Musik-Download-Sites Tausende von CDs mit Uilleann Pipe-Musik verfügbar sind. Man muss einfach suchen. Here are a couple of group names: The Chieftains, Bothy Band, Planxty, and many, many more. Sie werden denken, daß Sie plötzlich in Musikhimmel angekommen sind!

Slow airs, "nahenahe", in Hawaiian - suits the uillean pipes well.
