@@abdelrahmansaad9525 The simple fix would be to re-tune the loop up around 4 psi where the process has a higher gain. This would cause the control to be sluggish or slower when controlling back down at 1 psi where the process gain is lower, but at least the loop wouldn’t oscillate when controlling around 4 psi. If you needed the loop to have the same response throughout the range of control on a non-linear process you would use a signal characterizer. Thank you for the video, very clear and informative! Im encountering a slight problem with my calculations tho, when I multiply the flow by the 0.8 factor when calculating Sm and reynolds no. for the gas everything seems to be fine and I get the same results. However when I multiply the flow by the same factor but for Liquid I get different values, but if I only include the factor for reynolds and not Sm (for liquid) I get the correct results. Do you maybe know why this is happening?

Hi, Man) Thanks for video, very informative and understandable ❤❤❤ Just one question, Dude: we have supply air pressure for Controller, our Controller gives output signal from 3 to 15 Psi usually, but I guess this pressure not enough for valve actuator, I mean same air pressure 3-15 psi going to our valve actuator 😮?
@AutomationCliff2 ай бұрын
Sorry, I don’t follow your question. Are you saying you have a problem with the controller working with your valve actuator?
@MaxKharevsky2 ай бұрын
@AutomationCliff Nope, I don't have any problem, but I'm just curious about this topic. And if, for example our valve operated by controller, which pressure going to actuator, same 3-15 psi, or this is only control air and for actuator actuation going another air?

@@AutomationCliff Yes but the oil on the left which is under the spilling threshold, how do it go to the right?
@AutomationCliff5 ай бұрын
@@radiateurfou185 sorry I understand what you are saying now. In a three-phase separator like this one, the interface between the water and oil is maintained. This is done by measuring the oil-water interface and then throttling the water valve - there will always be oil there in normal operation. If the feed starts to have more oil, more oil spills over the weir if the feed has more water, it will cause the interface to rise, but the automated water valve would open more to bring it back down. If an operator actually wanted to push all that extra oil over, they would have to raise the setpoint for the interface up, but they would risk spilling water over into the oil and the oil wouldn’t be as pure. This process is continuous. It has a constant oil-water-air mix fed into it and constantly produces separated oil, water and air. As more oil comes in, the oil you are concerned about will spill over and exit out the pipe on the right. I hope this makes more sense now.

The three threads of engagement for wrench-tight is approximate. Tighten until you have it facing the way you want it and with approximately 3 threads engaged from hand tight. Once you do it a few times and get a feel for it, it will make sense.

Hello, I need to communicate the InductiveAutomation scada Ignition software with a DeltaV DCS with MD Processors and Software Version 9. Which do you think would be the best way
@AutomationCliff10 ай бұрын
I haven’t done this before, but if I was asked to do this I would look into using a DeltaV OPC server to provide the data to Ignition. I’m sure this has probably been done before, so I would contact Inductive Automation and Emerson for some guidance on the best way to do this. DeltaV Books Online probably has information on configuring the OPC server and Inductive Automation probably has information on connecting to an OPC server on their website. Good luck!

Would you power down the whole PLC to replace a module? I have a bad RTD module and have to replace it. Allen Bradley doesn't have a power button like a Siemens PLC does. I have replaced a Siemens but not on an Allen Bradley. Thanks in Advance.
@AutomationCliff Жыл бұрын
The modules are hot-swappable on the ControlLogix series. Confirm in the documentation, but you should be able the change the card out with the PLC powered up. If the PLC is controlling a live process make sure to connect to it with Studio 5000 and check the module isn’t configured to fault the controller when it is disconnected. Otherwise, if you feel more comfortable doing a shutdown, you can power off the PLC by opening in the door on the power supply and using the power switch to power it down.
