There's a lot of Words in Heraldry So Passant Rampant Quatrain Quartered ECT I did like the Fleur De Lis analogy with the Lion Rampant But The Saltire And the Lion were both on the Battle Field It's as simple as this the Lion represents the Crown the Saltire The People I believe it was Malcom I First used it as the Royal Standard But even Today The Usurper King Charles chooses to have it in his repertoire

Not all of Brazil was under control of the Dutch, however, most of the Northeastern coast of Brazil was. The Dutch were expelled by Portuguese and Brazilian colonial forces. In fact, the Brazilian Army traditionally traces it's origins to these campaigns, given some of the colonial forces operated under their own leadership and structure. The Military Police in my State, Espírito Santo, also traces it's roots all the way back to the failed Dutch incursion into our capital city, Vitória. Some of the Dutch settlers who fled Brazil eventually settled in New Amsterdam, in the island of Manhattan.

There are some mistakes or inacuracies here. The map on the beginning, that should have a date, is around XIII century, is quite wrong. At the time Portugal has arrived at the south of its current territory, Aragon was WAY south on its conquest over arabic lands. The current coat of arms is from around 1980, while the flag has the same colours on the 19th and beginning of 20 centuries, the coat of arms was quite different (I quite like our current more more).

Big mistake! The red and black flag I have personally seen in paintings and on coat of arms of various nobles in castles & museums here in Ukraine going at least back to the 1400s. Perhaps as early as the 1200s. in the same way that the blue and yellow with the lion was used, the red and black on a shield or banner was just as frequent. also, you completely skipped Makhno, The anarchist Democratic socialist who fought both the Bolsheviks and the monarchists and formed the only functional anarchist Democratic state in the 1920s. They also carried a red and black flag. So please for the love of God do not keep foisting this russian propaganda on us about the red and black flag being associated with the Nazis. I demand you do your research, and re-upload this video with correct information.

I am confused, you said in the video that Romania used this flag in 1867, so what with this title? How exactly did Romania copy Chad's flag when Chad got its independence 100 years later? There is literally no argument here, if someone copied the flag is Chad, I'm not implying they did it intentionally but they have no ground to stand on when accusing Romania of 'copying' their flag

As Ukrainian myself i can confirm that video have main idea right, thought there are some mistakes: 1. UPR(Ukrainian people's republic) existed up to 1921 and partially(Kholodny Yar Republic) to 1922 2. Ukranian insurgent army wasn't all white and good, it's true, but their goal wasn't only Ukrainian or N#zi Ukraine, their goal was just Ukrainian independence

ein Beitrag des Freitag, 27. Dezember (= 3. Weihnachtstag) The 30th of November, is the annual Saint Andrews Day. Then starts the stretch of the shortest 43 days of the year, in astronomical defintion! Given the fact, that Scotland is relatively far away from the equator, the hugh lack of natural light, is very noticable there! The winter semester of nature, is usually colder than its summer semester. Saint Andrews Day is a Feast Day, of the Roman Catholic Church, ... at least in Scotland (UK); Burgundy (France); Holstein (Germany); Poland! from 30th of November to 20st of December --> 21 dates around 21st of December --> astronomical Winter solictice --> 1 date from 22nd of December to 13th of January ---> 21 dates

That was really interesting. Thank you. However, you need to get your pronunciation correct when saying "fleur de lys" (or "fleur de lis") You need to pronounce the 's' in 'lys' (which means "the flower of the lily") What you are saying is "fleur de lit" (or "flower of the bed").

Good video but the scripting could use some work. Sentence construction can be very clunky with many repetitive words. Also, if I'm watching a history channel I'm looking for information that appears researched/verified, rather than with so many "I think" statements. Very informative and hard work that is paying off. Keep it up.

The fleur de lis were removed from the Royal Standard in 1801, when King George III gave up his claim to be King of France. He did this at the time of the Union of the Crowns, when Great Britain and Ireland were merged to form the United Kingdom. St Patrick's Cross was added to the Union Jack, which up to that point had contained only St George's and St Andrew's Crosses.
