The wording "public official" if this is a rewrite, leaves the citizens defenseless. If you want to ADD an ordinance specifically for public officials, then just add a new one. An article I just saw says "A proposal to change Flint’s disorderly conduct ordinance to include prohibitions on threats to kill, physically injure or cause damage to property owned by a public official has fallen one short vote of adoption."
