Awwww thanks Lauren! I can answer this for you quickly. If you’re in the United States, non competes have been effectively made illegal. So you can do what you want! 💜

I love the reframe about how to network and build relationships with peers, vendors, and venues! Thank you for this video and for doing what you do! I'm obsessed! My question is for the legal side of the card. Do you wait to file as a sole proprietor/LLC or file right away? Also, taxes, and what paperwork do we fill out, etc?

I'm so happy to help Cheyenne! Thanks so much for watching and for asking me questions. This is a great question and I am definitely going to teach you this inside The Wedding Planner Business Blueprint. I would set up an LLC straight away to protect your business and be legally legit. It's very simple and easy to do (I have an online service I can recommend if you want to email me) and once it's set up, you're good to go. For taxes, you'll want to keep good financial records of your expenses and the money you make. For your first year, you can probably use the same accountant who does your taxes currently. As your business grows, you may want to look into more comprehensive tax services. If you're in the US, something like H&R Block should be OK for your first year or two! :) I hope that helps and don't forget to sign up for the waitlist for WPBB!! XOXO

I plan on checking out this blueprints for sure! I've been doing my own taxes for years now plus I own my other business as well but taxes have been the biggest hurdle for me. I have a business checking account to help keep track.

During my first year in biz, I did so many of these I already don't like them anymore, lol. The diy brides are insane! I have had the whole family there on the day-of crafting on the spot, then blame me if they run out of time to decorate because I did not show up the morning before to help do the diy crafts the whole day before.

I love that you addressed this, Candice. Most people give advice on how and what you need to start your business. It’s rare to find someone who tells you how to actually get clients for that business. I’m a luxury stationery designer and after working in a full time job for the past 5 years and then taking a year off, I’m now back to doing what I love but felt so out of touch in the industry I needed some quick reminders. Your video has reminded me of what it takes to get back in the game fast!

Wow, thanks for encouraging ME Michelle!!!!! I have a blog coming on startup costs, but what I love about this work is those costs are small chunks spent over time. It’s not like you need a loan to purchase products or inventory. Expect t to spend $500 on a few things to get started, and maybe $2,000 overall over a series of a few months. That’ll cover education, your contract, business registration, a website, some templates and software, and yeah! That’s if! 😘😘😘
