As a South African, I honestly didn't even know who Tyla was until "water" and now she's everywhere! I did know her song "getting late" before this a couple years ago, and it was blowing up in some parts of SA back then, but then everyone forgot about it after a while. I didn't even bother looking her up during this time. I just heard the song, vibed to it for a couple of months, then moved on. But that was mostly because the only social media I had was KZbin... Now that she's blowing up outside of SA, I'm really proud of her and how far she's come!
