I think he has the coolest eyes, they seem a bit different from other O's. More...'sinister' looking, like a hawk or eagle. He is awesome.

Don't remember chick's being so aggressive last year. OK Dorcha it's a fish they want but they'll have to wait till Louis the expert arrives.

There was only one chick last year, Ludo LY7, and not having siblings, he used to attack mum instead! It's in their nature at this age when they're growing so rapidly, they'll settle down in a couple of weeks.

I think he and Aida are cosied up somewhere nearby, perhaps the other nest on private land at the western end of the loch. Otherwise he'd be here more often with fish trying to attract a female. When the ringer does his rounds in July, I do hope he'll report ringing a little family on that nest. Fingers and talons crossed for Garry, Suzy!

Exactly - bob1 doesn't stop either of the other two eating, so it's not serious aggression like I've seen on other nests, to the point where a chick has actually been killed by the bigger ones. This is more of a 'me first and don't you forget it' type of aggro.

1 and 2 shouldn't even be competing with 3 at all for anything. That competition was over the moment 3 was rag-dolled beyond the guard rail by a flopping fish. But human interference has determined to make things harder. 3 could very well get beaten and starved/dehydrated to death anyway. Anyway, these are pets, not wild ospreys, so they will all be fine. Disney ftw!

You keep making the same comment on various different videos. These are not pets, these are wild birds leading wild lives. You are also getting your nests mixed up - Loch Arkaig bob3 has not left the inner nest cup, that happened elsewhere and that other nest only has one chick anyway, not three of them.
