It was true that in the way to the hairpin I could reach 94mph even before the chicains but only 91 in the last straight. But nothing to do with the GPS, just wind direction. Both Saturday and Sunday the wind was blowing in our favor in the run up but against us to the Pope's straight. You could also see that the acceleration was different in both straights. We both enjoyed the race, believe me on that! It's not always about the win..usually I love the fights more!

He missed a gear before the finish line and I also thought I could have him. But nevertheless, the battle was epic!

it varies from 150cc to 250cc and all of them 2T. The onboard bike is 150cc with a FRT cylinder while the lambrettas are 200-250cc. And the hp is usually from 38hp to 45hp.

We were short geared on those videos, and when we changed to the right gearing, the stator gave up. We should be reaching around 100mph with a proper gearing with this engine

i ride a proper motorcycle but let me tell you launching a 2 stroke moped on the track is real fun! Plus it's a lot cheaper both to run and transport to the track

@@chitoglou true. at first i went to the track with a Piaggio Zip which has 10" wheels, it felt too unstable to me, i then switched to my favourite track weapon: a Liquid Cooled Piaggio Liberty 1st gen, 16" wheels, great for top speed and fast turns (plus it's insanely overrated, so it's a surprise when it battles with more mainstream builds)

@@chitoglou Yes, I was being deliberately provocative. I couldn't believe how fast the scooters were going. I seem to remember Scooter racing has been going for a long time at club level, but I didn't realise just what level they'd reached. At least you're not racing off-road with the 10 inch wheels!
