I was hoping for some shots of the interchange between Dundas West subway & the GO platform, esp of the new 2nd subway station entrance/exit, & works next to the GO platforms.

Technically The VIVA Bus way is a constructed part of York Reigon's BRT to About just before Kipling from Richmond Hill Centre which already exist. I think this plan is an extension of that VIVA BRT busway into Brampton to provide better and faster service between the 2 cities

Wonderful video, though a reason for the lack of a proposed extension to RH center might be due to the pre-existing Viva orange BRT run by the YRT

@@RAILdocumenterON With VMC station intercepting Zum buses, I don't see a reason for Zum to go all the way to Yonge. Its mandate isn't to serve York Region beyond getting Brampton riders to the subway.

@@ALuimes I thought seeing Richmond Hill Centre become a larger transit hub would be interesting, but you're right that all is necessary is Brampton-TTC connection, which can easily happen on the University corridor alone.

The extension to Richmond hill would be a no brainer. It also connects up some of the biggest in development regions in GTA together without having to go to Downtown Toronto in order to commute between them. Toronto and GTA definitely lacks a lot of "orbital lines" connecting the suburbs to each other since most of the subway and rail is used to connect down to Union.
@RAILdocumenterON
@RAILdocumenterON 2 күн бұрын
There is one corridor called the York Subdivision that starts from the MacMillan Yard in Vaughan and eventually merges with the CN Kingston Subdivision (aka the Lakeshore East line.) This would be a perfect orbital line because it is three-tracked and could easily share traffic with CN trains. Plus, unlike the more commonly proposed CPKC North Toronto Sub, CN is a lot more kind to leasing tracks to GO

This video is genuinely so well done. I consume so much Urban Planning youtube slop but your video: -Highlights a story that hasn't really been talked about -Provides your own insights on not only what it could be but what in your eyes it should be -And you kept it all under 5 minutes I'm taking the time to highlight this because that's all really good for a channel that's still relatively young. I think the editing could use some work but I'm super excited to see you grow more into your own and find your voice. You should be super proud and please keep it up!

Bro the editing in this video was awesome! Some suggestions I would have for MX is to expand to Mount Pleasent GO because in the future, the hourly GO train won't be enough for all the development happening around Mount Pleasent. As of now, the only somewhat frequent bus to connect these 2 vital points of Brampton is the 1 Queen bus, which comes every 10-15 minutes (not good enough for the demand this route has) and people can still get stuck in traffic. So my route plan would be: After looping the BRT at Brampton GO's bus loop (may need expansion) and headed down George St until Queen, continue west on Queen with additional stops at the OBRY diamond (my idea is to turn the OBRY railpath into a BRT between Orangeville and Brampton), McLaughlin, Chinguacousy, and a stop at James Potter. At James Potter, the BRT heads up north on it with stops at Williams Parkway, a possible stop at Creditview, and a stop at Ashby Field where the BRT heads north onto it until reaching Mount Pleasent GO. This proposal would add 4 stops, a possible infill stop at Creditview, and if infrastructure is built over the OBRY line, a stop there would be nice if the OBRY BRT is ever built. Anyways, awesome summary you made of the Queen BRT and you just earned a subscriber
@RAILdocumenterON
@RAILdocumenterON 2 күн бұрын
@@TheTrainNook That was one descriptive plan and I love it! Looks like there’s no saving the OBRY from being completely removed, but a bus route on the rail path is something I’ve never considered!

@@RAILdocumenterON i would like to make a video on the queen/7 brt, is it alright if i use your image of your map (i will give credit in video), also could you make a proposed section of the map in like a half-line of the western and eastern extension you mentioned. but my brain keep thinking of ideas so here is an idea of mine: you can easily extend service queen/7 brt service by utilizing the VIVA brt lanes up to South Town Centre Blvd. There are no bus lanes east of there, so lets put some in because there is already space for some. Let's keep the bus lanes up until Birchmount with a stop at Warden and one at Birchmount of course. Now lets go south on Birchmount where there is space to put bus lanes for most of it with a stop at Verdale and one at Enterprise Blvd. We head east on Enterprise from here until we reach University Blvd, then head west onto YMCA Blvd where we reach Unionville GO. This would make Unionville an already bigger transit hub. Now think of this - if one VIVA bus runs every 10 min on the VIVA segment of this extension and a Queen/7 bus runs every 5, that would be 3 buses every 10 minutes, equaling to a bus between the VIVA segments and South Town Centre to every 3.3 minutes! Even on the queen/7 segments, a bus every 5 minutes each way would be awesome! If we were to integrate through running services with VIVA, we would improve VIVA frequencies and service for the better! Plus, a seamless one-seat ride between downtown Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and downtown Markham would be awesome! I will make sure to add these proposals I’m yapping about in my video, feel free to make a Part 2 using these proposals with my credit. One last thing, do you have discord so you could send me the images?

Wow, 20 years ago I moved to Brampton and it was about 235k people and now its 745k. The existing BRT lanes end before pine valley so expect mixed use operation on that section of the line. Extending to Richmond hill will not happen for good reasons, if the ridership is there then the existing York region frequency would increase on that section and this turnaround gives more opportunity for frequent service back to Brampton for the Brampton busses. I would like to see BRT expansion on Steeles ave. Hopefully it would provide an incentive for people to leave their cars if they can.
