wow it was quite strange seeing the universities even though they are kind of beautiful they seem to have modelled themselves on European universities like Oxford or Cambridge, its such a shame they did not draw on traditional Korea architecture, seeing gothic style turrets and spires and then the classic columns of Greece looks kind of strange in another setting where the architectural language would probably be more different.I have to admit I find them abit gross or not inkeeping, its sad when certain countries try to emulate maybe western styles when I am sure they must have a whole language of their own and universities or at least seats of learning or scholarship that go back many years. Oh well just my observation...I find it interesting as I would perhaps to like to know more about ancient traditions and how knowledge was passed down or places of "excellence and learning"that universities are supposed to be. Its fascinating seeing the Korean script written in many of your comment section,is it similar to Chinese script where things are symbols of things ? sorry for asking but it always triggers loads of questions when you see how different cultures write especially when it is so different from our own. Also the free ice cream shop...lol I wonder if that would even work here in the UK or if people would simply steal all the ice cream !! are people more honest in Korea or at least such things like this ?I just couldn't see it working in the UK unless it was a small village or something. Oohh so many questions about Korean lifestyle and culture....like would you say people tend to be more conformist ?

I was reflecting on your social small talk thoughts... I've read that there's a stigma regarding random small talk with strangers in South Korea, and I've also heard the opposite. I was raised like you - we were friendly. Mom said that was small town living, and when we moved to the city, people were definitely NOT friendly. 😬 However, my son just experienced the opposite: He went from a friendly city to a small town where people ignore him or throw the stink eye when he smiles or makes small talk (even "Good morning"). Everyone has a "stranger danger" attitude. So... either it's very localized behavior, totally random, or perhaps the astrological climate. 😂 I always say, "You do you, Boo." 😊💕

I think creating child like art as an adult would be disingenuous and therefore childish. It's like deliberately making a film and calling it "found art". The Blair Witch Project approach to art.

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate you sharing your viewpoint. Some artists find value in reconnecting with a childlike sense of creativity and wonder, which can lead to authentic and meaningful expressions in their own work. This is what I hope to show with my simple exercises. They are tools for people to find their own creative spark. This is one of the reasons I love art - it can take various forms, and evoke many different interpretations.

Lumi, this is very interesting to me. I am ethnically Korean and born in Seoul, but moved to Los Angeles when I was only 1. While my parents did try to educate me in Korean culture, I can't say I was much of a willing student at the time. I am trying now, but my Korean is actually still very poor. What I found interesting about this is your inexplicable attachment to Korean culture. Growing up in America, I often had to explain my background, with very few understanding any of it. Basically, they were just trying to categorize me as either Chinese or Japanese and unsatisfied with an "other" category. I feel a special kinship for Scots, mainly because my grandfather was a Presbyterian minister. Not sure if you have seen this, but Presbyterianism is one of the more popular Christian groups in Korea. So there may be more to your feelings than completely random chance. I look forward to seeing more of your learnings into Korean culture and history. All I can tell you is that it is extremely long and complex. I have been working for a Korean company in the US for 8 years now, and I am still constantly amazed by some of the differences between American and Korean culture. I hope to learn more about what you see from your perspective.

Thank you so much for your comment, it’s really nice to see people genuinely engaging with my videos. I know the basics of Korean history but I’m educating myself to learn more. I feel Korean people have a unique character and personality, and I’d love to understand more deeply how these characteristics have been shaped by ancient cultures and traditions. I’m also really interested in Korean folk tales and myths.
