looks good, but tbh if im looking for realistic immersive gameplay, shooting ppl aint gonna cut it for me. i'm just likely old. anyways u spoke about rising storm, that game was so underrated, such great mechanics, just because the devs listened to the community suggestions - such a foreign concept for todays game dev.

Interesting so what kind of games are you into these days? I do get where you're coming from though, as I got older I started enjoying more flight simulators and vehicle combat games, but I used to really love FPS games back in the day, this game however, got me excited to play FPS again.

Solo mole mining in arial in those barren deserts, it has been almost therapeutical lol with some podcast running in the background as if it was a radio playing discussions 1k years ago lol got also into Soulmask, pretty good so far, despite being EA.

For a futuristic game I don't see why we don't have automated fire suppression systems on board. As well as automated defensive mimi guns to shoot down incoming missles. These things exist now.

I believe point defence system are actually planned to be in the game, if i’m not mistaken. CIG has spoken about these concepts a couple times in the past, they feel that they could add them but then they’d lose the “game” aspect, they want people to have things to do while playing the game, and having most of the in game systems automated would mean that players would have a lot more down time. They want star citizen to be a game you play with friends and random players you meet along the way, interaction is important to them. But don’t forget, there’s AI planned for the game, you’d be able to hire crew to help you manage your ship and the AI could help to keep up with many of these tasks on board your ship. I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you, CIG wants the game to be fun. But realism and a “fun” game has always been been a balance that they’re mindful of of 👍 Thanks for the comment

These ships are going to be great little group/org ships, ship roles and duties are being rebalanced along with engineering, fire management, master modes and combat and security. As an mmo, its shaping up nicely

From the outside, I agree with you, looks good. But the inside is terrible. I'd hate following those narrow, windy hallways. The best interior in that size class is still the 400i. I still can't believe they couldn't do better for the interior!

@@faintanomaly Thanks for responding Mr. Anomaly. I started playing 3 months before 3.23 came out, so that should give this some context. The flight model and the way ships worked was simple, logical, and felt really intuitive in atmo and zero G. The big rub for me is that the ships are unnecessarily convoluted now and combat has been boiled down to whoever has the higher DPS (in the case of two fighters fighting) or faster strafe (smaller ship vs. heavier) will inevitably win the 150-200 m/s strafe and aim fest that is 3.23 combat. In 3.22 we could maneuver, strategize, joust if necessary, and even circle strafe an enemy if we were skilled enough. No matter the size ship, I always felt I had a chance in PVP or PVE combat. Now the ships feel kind of clunky and slow, though I'm not sure what changed in the actual physical flight model. Master Modes forces me to take a lot of damage because combat can only occur in <200 m/s speeds. In my opinion, they took what made this game unique and made it into a CoD-like min/max battle where the fastest strafing ship with the highest DPS weapons will win any given engagement. I'm just glad I've been playing on a friend's account so I don't have any money sunk into the game in case they don't make some changes for the positive. This is not to mention the myriad tiny issues and basic systems that are built on sand. 3.23 is lipstick on a pig.

Alright I think I see where you're coming from. Your main concern seems to stem from combat not having the same "opportunities" it used to, in other words, more limited for the ships that could've escaped sticky situations in previous patches, now potentially getting crushed, up close, from the close range engagements. I can see where you're coming from, previous patches probably made fights more unpredictable and by extension more exciting. Am I correct in my understanding that you're more concerned with what we lost, than what we gained? Do you feel like we gained anything from patch 3.23? Does the patch have any merits? I think this new patch has definitely added complexity with the 3 sub modes under the 2 main modes... I myself have got stuck with this a couple times but I think I'll get used to it. What I don't get is why we can't have shields in NAV mode. It's not like anyone will be able to shoot us, if they are in SCM and we are in NAV mode, we'll be 2 times faster than them, so escape should be easy. Shields also make sense incase you bump stations or mess up landings. I think the combat aspect will improve over time with many passes of ship stats. I just want to know if Master Modes are so broken that the Tweaks that will eventually happen, won't be enough? or will we have to go back to the old way? do we stick to this and tough it out? who knows...

@@faintanomaly Fights before made more sense too, in a way. Why would a manufacturer make a ship limited to 200m/s when there's no legit reason to in a fight? Like...one manufacturer would just make a ship that could behave like 3.22 ships (high speed capable, shields always up, stealth, easy to use functions without switching modes, etc.) and just dominate the star system. Yeah, the shields in nav mode thing is a killer. If you try to break contact then you end up dying to missiles as you jet away without shields... I don't mean to come off all negative, but it seems like 3.23 is all fluff and no substance. They made the UI better, but the gameplay is worse somehow. Contracts barely accept and track and cargo disappears even more than before. It's just frustrating to play right now.

@@leehrvyoswld No no you're not coming off negative, I see where you're coming from and I understand many of the points you raise. I'm just glad you actually have some points, I've had some people complain about master modes in the past on the channel but they couldn't tell me what they thought was actually wrong. I still think there's gonna be a place in the middle, where everyone makes some sacrifices. The way MM is now seems to not be working for a substantial amount of people. I guess, my hope is just that the tweaks to MM can get it there in the end, but I don't know. I do know that the previous version also had it's flaws, for me personally the high speed altercations was too much, but I know some liked that aspect of the game with jousting gameplay being a huge part of the skillset they developed and came to love.

Binding Gravity Compensator and Precision mode to your decoupled key bind makes it fly like Old decoupled.... only difference is when you have these setting off and decoupled, if you put your gear down you dont have vector hold anymore. you will still have to add Upstrafe while gear is down. Only real noticeable change... Your welcome

The major differences are much smoother and more intuitive control. Momentum is also conserved after leaving the inputs. It's very similar to DCS, which is another flight simulator game that I'm familiar with. I think CIG is moving in that direction (FlightSim) anyways, especially after seeing the CitizenCon demo. The realistic control surface movements and also the stalling behaviour, those are all found in the more realistic sims. I'm excited personally about these changes, but I know it's not for everyone, so people need to speak up on spectrum if they don't like the direction the game is heading, but we'll see...

To be honest i dont have a particular opinion on the flight mode, as i mostly play with keyboard and mouse, anything fits for me for better or worse. im more itnerested in the overall game and setting rather then flight itself

Same here actually, I used to play with a dual stick setup, with the pedals and head tracking, the whole works, but these days I actually prefer mouse and keyboard to the cumbersome setup of HOTAS. Once you get used to mouse and keyboard it's actually really fun, and I prefer it. Master Modes has been quite fun for me, but I don't do much PVP, I mainly fight NPC's. I can imagine a massive adjustment to the PVP players and also those players who bought a particular ship for it's performance in previous patches.

Dam dude that's a shit one, I hope it wasn't any rare loot. So far i've been surprised by how stable everything is, I've had one issue with elevators not opening at the stations but it fixed itself after a couple minutes, so it was probably just a slow server load.

Yes it’s in flight movement called gravity compensation. You can set it as a keybind to toggle. Same place you find the keybind for landing gear speed restrictions

I set my Gravity compensator and my Precision mode to my key bind for Decoupled. Precision mode is the 30m/s limit with landing gear out. ALso new change in Decoupled with these setting turned off Makes your ship no long have vector hold mode with the gear out. Same as old Decoupled but no Vector hold with landing gear out... FYI

In Regards to the Decoupled Upwards Thrust behavior Change Comment: Just to Clarify, in previous versions of the game, by default the player would have to constantly give upwards thrust input to hold their altitude in Atmosphere (When the player is close enough to be pulled by the planet's gravity). In 3.23, Default behavior has changed, the game will now hold the ship at your altitude without constant input. You no longer have to hold your upwards thrust to stay at altitude in ATMO. This will be a big change for those of us who use pedals to keep our altitude in atmosphere.

I'm also quite disappointed about the Zues, I'm really excited for that ship, it will probably drop in a .1 or .2 Patch, but still, quite disappointing. We need Alpha 3.23 to be a Homerun at this point or things might get sour. I just hope there's a couple unexpected surprises at Invictus this time round, maybe the completion of the Idris, or the Polaris? Maybe they're further than we are let on to believe...

StarLeader tell me man, what do you think about potentially splitting this up into segments, as standalone videos? I could make the videos a lot shorter and cover a lot more ground, and people could tune in to the ones that they want to watch. The algorithm won't like it though, because it favors longer form content, over, for example, weekly updates.

@@faintanomaly in addition to what StarLeader said in his next comment. one thing you can do Is Segment the longer form Video into chapters. Instead of splitting the information into multiple videos. Each Chapter highlight a point of topic. Ai Features, AI Tech etc. This makes it easier for people to get a general sense for the video & what it contains. as well as allow people to come back to the video and find a bit of information they are looking for. These chapter break points are also perfect locations to have a Ads play. as It doesn't break the informational content for the chapter. Giving the viewer the full info before moving to a Ad. For anyone that doesn't know what Chapters are. On any video with chapters Clicking the Text Next to the Timer and duration of the video will bring up all chapters. On the video timeline you will also see Notches highlighting where a new chapter begins and a old one ends.

Yes that’s right, I’m doing it with pedals in this clip, Thrustmaster pedals that come with the 16000 kit. But my understanding is the new update to the game will no longer require upwards thrust input to maintain altitude.

@@faintanomaly That's really awesome. I fly HOSAS and have been wanting to experience decoupled a bit more but vertical thrust on the t16000 twist axis makes this a royal pain. If you're right about the update that will make world of difference. I would hope that in that scenario upwards thrust would still need to be applied at lower velocities to maintain altitude.

I know they’re trying to get the flight model as realistic as possible, they want to take the game in the direction they showed at CitizenCon. That flight demo with the gladius is probably what they want to get things too eventually. In that world the upwards thrust is something you’d only really use for landings. We’re gonna have to wait and see. I know there’s a lot of players who have invested a lot of money in their setups and spent a lot of time learning the game mechanics. I just hope a full out war doesn’t break out between CIG and the Pledgers 😂

I heard there’s some changed with decoupled flight coming with mastermodes, i believe i heard one of the devs say that the upwards thrust will no longer need to be held down in atmo, but we’ll see, congratz on the sticks !

Oh, a new great SC-channel on KZbin? Awesome! Great format, short and sweet, clear thumbnail and title, clear sound. I can get used to this! Could like a couple of more seconds at the end before the next random video starts playing, but that's maybe a personal preference

The ship sounds are in, they're in the EPTU at the moment and should be in Live when 3.23 moves Past the PTU, Expected some time in May. As to the interaction animation's, I'm not sure what you're referring too, Are you talking about the animation's that we saw at CitizenCon ? or the new interaction system in terms of tapping "F" to interact, instead of the holding "F" and clicking with the mouse?

I appreciated you taking the time to reply to comments on older videos. I was referring to what we seen at citizen con. How when you press the button on a door, the character actually reaches out to press it

@@jnh8057 ahhhh, Alright I understand, as far as I know the most recent patch will not yet include that, so maybe the next one? Honestly i'd be guessing at this point, but I think that's a ways off. I'm also super amped for the in-ship interactions, the Gladius demonstrated that beautifully at Citizencon, and it's a pleasure luckily the channel is still small enough that I can respond to all the comments comfortably.😄

It would be really nice to get some teaching commentary on how it behaves differently. I am really interested in decoupled flight and learning a more visceral feel to flying a ship and how the sticks feel. I want to buy high end sticks but not until I understand what I am really doing and paying for ya know? Keep the great footage coming

I would love to give a tutorial but with master modes around the corner, a lot of it will get outdated really quickly, maybe once master modes are in live then I could give it a go.(shouldn't take too long till it's live.) I did stop playing with my HOTAS setup though, I was getting a lot of keybinding resets and also a very annoying bug where my upwards thrust would max every time I got in a ship until I depressed the pedals. This led to a funny (but not so funny) bug, where I'd get in a ship and instantly throttle full force into the hanger doors above me 🤣

It’s gotta be SQ42 nearing completion, i think this next CitizenCon will be the one that gets the ball rolling on star citizen 1.0 pyro and SQ42, the dates line up for all of those things to at least have release dates announced, plus with so much of the team heading over from SQ42 to star citizen, it’s gonna be massive, that’s not even mentioning server meshing and I’m sure there’s outside interest in that too. Many new people were introduced to star citizen, after that extended cut we got at last years citizencon, I saw some big streamers covering the game for a first time, and they all seemed impressed, their viewers as well.
