Carlos, thank you so much for the new subscription and your kind words! I look forward to checking out your channel. I split up Jenkins’ Stabat Mater throughout our Good Friday service, hence lighting, candles, etc.

Myers Park, Charlotte, NC. I used this work within the context of a worship service. Consequently, I had to break up a work composed as a singular movement into logical parts (17 min. prelude, 3 min. offertory, 4 min. postlude). In having to break it apart as such, brief portions of music are missing. I look forward to recording it outside of that context as a complete work with superior recording equipment. Thank you for watching!

You can see why we had to make over $100K worth of audio, video, and lighting improvements during the pandemic! I want to be able to record this again down the road using our new equipment and with the professional recording staff we have now put in place.

Stunning! I'm David Foley, the composer of this piece, and you truly did an amazing job. It's even more stunning regarding the realities of COVID. Thank you so much for doing my piece!

David, thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to listen. I cannot recall what the particular sermon topic was for that week’s virtual worship, but I remember there being Advent-like themes. I discovered your piece as I was looking for something, and was moved; not only by the beauty of the text, music, and the combination thereof; but in how it particularly resonated with all of us in the height of the pandemic. As I told those singing that day, “This isn’t Advent liturgically, but we are stuck in the longest Advent ever, looking for something or someone to deliver us from COVID-19.” I am going to be purchasing enough copies to use this with my full choir this Advent (if Delta doesn’t prevent our having the full choir). At any rate, thank you for composing such a beautiful piece of music.
