Oh how i miss dancing! This brings me back to the days of wearing so many fragrant lei, and all the 'energy and time practicing and the 'alohs freely given as we tell tales and share history and culture through dance.

Oh I want to order the pink and yellow multi tiered ruffle dresses! Beautiful! Does anyone know the designer, or studio name it's from? Mahalo! All the songs and dances were excellent, but the young singer made me cry. He was outstanding!! So much emotion, pride and joy. So proud of him.

Kam schools love the performance but come on a lot of Hawaiian more %not in your schools and please let more Hawaiian children in your schools not paid to attend your school facts

This is not true at all. I practically went to Kamehameha for free. Most of the students that get to attend Kamehameha are from Waianae and Nanakuli (predominantly Native Hawaiian areas).

I have loved Na Vaqueros since I first heard it, and now this with the hula that combines the Hawaiian with the Hispanic dancing (the swirling dresses) is just awesome!!!

Mexican Dancing (aka Baile Folklorico) It’s ok to say. I am Mexican-American, knowing part of my culture also has influence in Hawaii makes me even more proud…It’s not Hispanic dancing.
@renierk7758 Жыл бұрын
@@MrNmsalas820 Thank you for the correction. I grew up in Texas, and this reminds me of the dancing they used to do there, but I know this is not truly the same, since it has the Hawaiian influence. :-) Wish I could have been there to see the whole show!!
@MrNmsalas820 Жыл бұрын
@@renierk7758 It’s all good….I was raised SE NM and was born in a small Western town in Texas….Grew up listening to all kinds of Spanish music. I live in NV now and every now and then I’ll go to watch Folklorico when they’re here during certain celebrations. It’s a great appreciation of history.

I was in 6th grade @ Kaala Elementary School. I had to take part in May Day celebration. I had to learn to Hula for that. I did very great that I was promoted to hold one of the front kahili. : - )
