Has anybody bothered eating the oysters there and the muscles. You can catch really decent-sized fish there I used to do West Lakes. Since I've gone 3 weeks ago to West Lakes everywhere you go where it used to be allowed to the fish it's no fishing no more now the residents have a really ruined it from the inlet.

If you want a decent chance at legal whiting try in West Lakes. The last few years have produced good numbers but you just need to be in the right spot. I’d start off on Delfin Island or maybe Powell court. Nice beaches along there to fish. 👍

Where your fishing now,, we used to fish at the power station side, we never bought bait,, we would lift rocks and catch rock crabs,, and we caught some big bream,, you should give it a go,,
@Whacked25 күн бұрын
Yes I went by there today and tried but had no luck, what tide where you there for bream?
@jasonbrown699025 күн бұрын
@Whacked when the warm water was pumped out from the power station it was all tides it didn't mater,, I don't know if it's still working havnt been there for years,, but you could also catch mulloway there to,, I grew up all around the port river and north haven fishing,, it was good times,, except for ici warf when they flushed all the shit into the river,,
@SaMaNtHa.202317 күн бұрын
Hey just wondering where you bought the rig from. I used to go fishing around the area and I got told that you can't fish near the power station anymore because the water gets too hot and it gets very dangerous if you fall in. So I use Garden Island along the wooden Jetty is really good to catch decent King George whiting.
@Whacked17 күн бұрын
@@SaMaNtHa.2023 those ones o showed, I bought on my way to the yorkes at a petrol station haha, but I’m sure you can the similar ones at your local tackle shop to just show them a photo of the one I showed you. The power plant is very popular fishing atm everytime I go I see lots of people fishing so I’m guessing still available! I haven’t tried the jetty yet I’ll be keen to give it a shot if your catching of size whiting!

Close to where the gates open to the port river,, and just back a bit where the first boat ramp and toilets are,, on the same side as the leg trap hotel is,, my biggest mulloway was just over a metre long,, I couldn't weigh it because I didn't have scales to do so,,
