@PE4Doers6 күн бұрын
I agree. If I don't have to return the unit I was sent, then it will allow me to place that label printer in a central place. It still works great, and four of our household computers already have the labeling software installed, and we have many labels already created for that specific software on a shared NAS drive. That software also support several spreadsheets as input fro a large group of labels. I would hate to replace it a printer that is not supported by the software.

I only buy network printers, however Ethernet ports do sometimes fail. I could see a use case where your the port on your network printer fails and this device could be used to keep it running for a while longer by utilizing USB with this device. I suppose if you have an older, but still serviceable printer which hasn't seen an update in a while, this could potentially be more secure than the onboard print server. Just my thoughts after reading more about the device.

Jeremy, I think it would be anyone who is not at least computer hobbyist, since this works almost plug-n-play. Some people say that the cooler should be higher than the processor, is that true?
@PE4Doers6 күн бұрын
Steve from Gamer's Nexus made a video about this last year going through all the details. unfortunately, many have taken excerpts from it that imply the 'Entire cooler should be above the Pump normally attached to the CPU (though there are exceptions to that). The problem is that in most cases if the pump gets air bubbles in it that don't dislodge, then that could lead to early pump failure, which would be detected by most motherboards leading to an alarm or eventual shutdown if the CPU overheats. If you watch the entire (somewhat long) video that Steve made, you will realize be never said the entire radiator must be above the pump, only that some of it has to be above (approx 3-inches), to allow the bubble floating with the closed system to have a safe place to settle. The ideal placement of the radiator is entirely above, however, the pump will last as long as effort is made to have a place for the air in the system to settle. The worse method is to place the entire radiator below the pump. However I had Kooler Master AIO in one of my systems that was entirely above the pump, and it lasted only 14-months.

That is an excellent question. I got my test unit out of my stocking shelves and looked everywhere for a reset switch (on the NVR and the cameras) - to no avail. I did find that there is a CR2032 battery on the small printed circuit board within the NVR. I did not try this, but I bet removing that battery from it's socked for several second, then reinstalling it in the socket (looks easily removable) will reset the volatile memory in the device and basically become Factory Reset.

Hi, am not practice, What does the amper-/voltage section is it for? to measure for instance the output k-ohms from an electric guitar pickup?
@PE4Doers10 күн бұрын
That is the 3rd section of this triple device that is used to provide power to a test circuit. The voltage/ampere display show what is being output by that section of the unit. It is theoretically possible to used a power out device like this one to measure resistance (calculated by Ohm's Law), however it would be extremely inaccurate and dangerous to the equipment you are trying it on if you apply too much voltage. I suggest you purchase a $20 Digital Volt Meter to measure kilo ohms.

Hello. Have you been able to do any playbacks of 4k videos in different codecs and see how it performs with Premiere Pro or DaVavinci Studio? I have been thinking of getting this motherboard for same reason you did. I have build a PC similar to the specs you have in Feb. of this year, but i has been a nightmare dealing with some unknown stutters and freezes that randomly happen when playing 4k, in H.264, H.265, ProRes. MSI, NVIDIA, Intel, and Microsoft don't have an answer, yet. I am suspecting it is the motherboard (MB).
@PE4Doers14 күн бұрын
I am surprised to hear that. Honestly though, my build was halted due to the issues with the i9-14900K CPU. I do plan on continuing that build later in December, so I will let everyone know if I have any issues like you have identified.
@maximilian.R14 күн бұрын
@ I see. Yes, the i-9 CPU has been an issue, as well as the firmware from the MB manufacturers. I have already exchanged one CPU with Intel, and it seems that the overheating is back, even after the last microcode from Intel this past month. I will have to open a case with Intel to see why it overheats, again. MSI is providing lame excuses, like always, and does not have a solution-it has been more than a month since the last microcode 0z12B came out, and MSI has no fix. I guess Asus is in similar situation?

I believe it lowered the overall risk of heat damage. Also, prior to adding that cooling the unit would freeze-up about every other month. Though I can't prove it made a difference on that without removing the fan and taking that risk, I have not had a freeze-up since.
