Sir, I am retired from Indian Air Force getting service & disability pension (271491 MWO Vidya Bhushan Verma) since 01 September 2003 till date. My pda doesn't detect any TDS but while filing ITR, the concerned advocate shows tax as per total salary(service & disability/ pension). I always tell him that I am in receipt of both pensions. Hardly, after detection of disability pension, tax on service pension tax is paid. He insists on section under which service pension is exempted, which is unknown to me. Please advise on it. Yes . Ofcourse commutation ghate ka sauda hai. All pensioners should be cautioned as no one tells about pro and cons of commutation. Tour commutation application will not be entertained unless you sign all the columns which has restoration period of 15 years. Luckily pensioners of Gujrat and Andra Pradesh have restoration period of 12 and 13 years respectively. Will government adopt unified policy on restoration period for whole of nation and other states?
