I (self) diagnosed this about 6mo. ago-....with a Dr. confirmation a week ago. I "thought" something was "weird" beginning about a year ago; couldn't figure it out. Classic symptoms, with nerve "shooters": atop the R hand, ring/pinky. At 69, NOT looking fwd to getting it fixed/rehabbed...because I'm still 3mo. post-op for rotator cuff surgery; one thing at a time. !!!!

Thank you for the vids, they will help me as I recover from the surgery I had 3 days ago.I had the spot between my thumb and index finger, and below my ring finger on my left hand done.My surgeon didnt mention anything about needing a splint for my ring finger, but I was wondering if that would be needed?
6.5 weeks post surgery....wound has healed well, although the scar is a little thick, so been massaging, it 2-3 times a day, and doing lots of exercises. I still have some swelling and lots of stiffness, especially in ring finger, in the morning after wearing the overnight splint... I still have numbness and tingling in my pinky, the surgeon says this is normal? It seems to be a to slower of a recovery than I expected...what roughly is the timeline to stop the exercises and splint, and have a normal hand again (roughly I know there’s no exact timeline)

I don't have your hand in front of me. It is therefore difficult to answer objectively. However, summarizing what you write, I am certain that you are within the average recovery time. Your surgeon is right, there is nothing abnormal. The tingling that you describe in the pinky appears each time the finger showed significant and long-term retraction before the surgical procedure. For the rest, especially the stiffness, don't worry, be patient. This is one of the particularities of operated Dupuytren's disease, the inflammation can last quite a long time (a few weeks). You have to wait for it to stop to get your hand back to normal. Keep doing gentle exercices. This particularity is called by the Americans: flare reaction. Regards Denis Gerlac

Thank you Mr. Gerlac. Your video is the best one I've ever seen for helping Dupuytren patients to regain mobility after the operations.

Hi, sorry for the late response. In this video there is the response ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3iniYyresx-gdksi=sgY_XSZPGOF_KcaL ). Unfortunately, inflammation can last up to 2 years... and then disappear as it gone. Regards
