To say that the video quality is 'low' would imply that there is some level of quality. There isn't. Not sure what use a camera like that is to anyone in the event of a crash when you can't make out the model of car let alone the rego plate.

Yes. We try to get permission from the people in the videos, so we can include sound. However many videos come to us with no sound. The Tasmanian Listening Act makes it illegal for us to broadcast conversations without consent. Many people turn their microphones off due to this.

when the zip lane lines ended the white car was fully in front of the SUV, you can see that by looking at the shadows on the roadway from both vehicles. The SUV is supposed to pull in behind the white car based on ZIP merge rules.

Police rarely watch our clips. Though they have contacted us a few times. (1) to see if anyone has submitted a video of a specific incident. (2) to ask us to remove/not post a clip due to a pending court case that it is being used as evidence in. In Tasmania, anyone with a dashcam can submit video to Tasmania Police, online: www.police.tas.gov.au/services-online/dangerous-driving-report/

Don’t you know if the driver feels he can , he can drive at whatever speed he wants to, suggested speed signs are only that , not the proper speed, nowadays I’ve discovered, - on the bass highway the average speed is 115 to 120 or whatever you want to drive at , even mainland drivers know that , I’ve witnessed that may times in recent times, weeks , months .

Yes it is really Tasmania. But a lot of the video we get has no sound, due to the Tasmanian Listening Act, it is illegal to broadcast/record any private conversation, without a court order. So people here tend to either turn off the microphone in their dashcam settings or mute it before they send it to us. When there is sound we have to specifically request permission to post it with the sound, from everyone in the vehicle at the time, to ensure we do not breach the State Law.

absolutely nothing. Sometimes we post stuff that we get sent to show how people do not understand the road rules. Old mate in the DC car felt the 4WD did not give way to him, because he was on their right. They literally just overtook someone, and the ~100m (3-4 seconds, wide angle dash cams skew the image) gap to the next car is closing fast. They are also already speeding (just) so there should be no way for them to even get in someone's way. There's also a sign in less than a KM "End Keep Left". You can't throw the ute into the same bucket as the arse in the Mercedes. Completely different driving.
