Hi, thanks for the video, I'm looking at a trip mid March, so a few questions: (a) what's the snow like in mid March? and (b) we like to ski 40/45km a day, is that possible in Andorra? TYVM

@keithtracy3316 Hi Keith! Judging from March of this past ski season, I skied in snowstorms with knee deep powder. I’ve always skied in the month of March so I’m assuming that this year it wouldn’t be any different unless Mother Nature decided no more snow for the month of March. I can ski 40km in 3 hours in Arinsal or Arcalís. In Grandvalira I can ski 80km in 6 hours. There are more than 215km of runs in Grandvalira, if all links are open y’all could keep on skiing until they shut down at 5pm. Hope this information helps. Happy holidays and happy skiing ⛷️

@biendereviere Hello, if I remember correctly, they usually have their Tughra, name, title, date of death. Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent’s Tughra means “the one who is always victorious”, Kanuni means Law Giver, dates of birth and death then reign period. Most of tombs stated the same.

Thanks for your update. You are making us more excited with our Christmas ski trip. Yeey...but how does the lift works in Pal Arinsal and ordino? They said that the chairlift are connected in some other resorts. When we buy our forfait, does it include all lifts/cable car from parking? How much is the forfait in Pal Arinsal and Ordino? Sorry for the many question. It"s our firat time in andorra. That is why your video is so awesome. Cant wait to be there❤

@alvinlacson610 You’re very welcome. Where will y’all be staying? If y’all plan to ski in Vallnord (Ordino, Pal and Arinsal) then the best is to stay in La Massana. There’s a cable car station what will take y’all up to Pal, Coll de la Botella at Pal has a cable car to go to Arinsal or vice versa Arinsal to Pal on the same cable car. If y’all are skiing only in Pal and Arinsal then staying in Arinsal is an option. Here is the information I found on ordinoarcalis.com: Bus line Vermella / Red Arinsal - Erts - La Massana This service will be available from the start of the winter season. Free circular service from Arinsal to La Massana, to access the cable car that connects to the Pal sector. With a stop in the village of Erts. No prior reservation is needed; just show your lift pass or the purchase confirmation voucher. Bus line Groga / Yellow Arinsal - La Massana - Ordino Arcalís This service will be available from December 26th, every Thursday of the 2024-25 season. Free service with prior online reservation. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance and until the day before the service Check it out as they have bus schedules. Your ski pass will include rides for cable cars, chairlifts, drag lifts. Check Grandvalira website for forfait dynamic rates, €66/day but €120/2 days for example. So it depends on how long y’all are going to stay to ski and which day. There are package deals from tour companies but I don’t have any information on that, y’all could check around. I made 2 long videos completely covered all Andorran resorts one last year and one the year before so check them out. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions that I may be of help. Happy skiing and Happy Holidays!!!

Thanks so much for the loads of helpful infos❤ we will be driving from madrid to xixerella park where we are going to stay. I saw that pal arinsal-sector arinsal is just 4min drives from xixerella and there is where we are gonna take the cable car going up. Is that right? We are planning to ski for a day in pal arinsal and the next day in ordino. Just to have good feel on both resort. Is that plan ok? What tip can you give me, plsssss😅? And is it better to purchase the pass online now? Thank you and be safe always.

@alvinlacson610 My pleasure glad to help! If y’all are driving to Andorra then y’all got it easy as driving your own car to ski resorts is always quicker and les of a hassle with waiting for the bus with full gear on. Please have winter tires 🛞 even though the roads are clean and clear by 8:00am but if there’s a snow storm then it may take longer for them to clear the snow especially driving up to Arcalís as it sits up high so winter tires are a must. Xixerella is half way to Pal and Arinsal, so it takes no time to get to the gondola in the middle of the town of Arinsal which will take y’all up to Arinsal ski area. There is a chairlift station to take y’all up to the same ski station or drive all the way up to Arinsal ski station, y’all got three options as y’all are driving. Or y’all could drive to Pal ski around then get on the cable car to Arinsal. Remember that in case of extreme wind, the chairlift to take y’all up to the top of Arinsal where the Arinsal-Pal cable car is may not run or from the other side over to Arinsal, so keep that in mind. Now, Arcalís is a bit of a wiggly waggly drive up to the ski station but it sounds like a good plan you got there skiing at these three small resorts in 2 days. Yes, definitely do get your forfaits online to get a cheaper rate. Okiedokie I’m here if y’all have any other questions that I could answer don’t hesitate.

@Henry-fi9wp Hi Henry and welcome back! Hope you enjoyed your extra long summer 😁 For some reason this summer seemed really long like the days and nights were longer somehow, I did have a nice city summer, thanks for asking. And now here we are back waiting for snow to go skiing ⛷️ I’ve seen “snowfeet” and ski skates, they are different in function, I’ve never tried them but thought they would be fun, less heavy gear to carry. I did some digging, called a few popular rental places and found that ski skates are not available to rent. However there is one place that sell them, they said they are thinking of having them for to rent out perhaps in the future if they get to be popular but at the moment you can only buy them from them: Riders Boutique Andorra. I will let you know if I found more info than that. I’m happy that y’all found my videos helpful, that motivates me knowing that my videos are informative. Thanks and happy skiing ⛷️⛷️⛷️⛷️

Hello, I’m from Brazil and I will be visiting Andorra for the first time in January 2025. My family and I are beginners in the sport, and I plan to stay at Les Escalades for easy access to both Grandvalira and Vallnord, as this is my first time and I’m not sure which would be better for our profile. Which slope would you recommend? Also, if I stay at Les Escalades, is the access to the slopes via the cable cars fast or very slow? Thank you!
@halalfood6435
@halalfood6435 Ай бұрын
Honestly staying in Escaldes is a big mistake. You are literally miles from the nearest lift which you will have to reach by car which will need to have winter tyres or by bus and that’s a really pain. If you are a beginner stay somewhere you can walk to the lifts .i suggest Canillo for Grandvalira or La Massana for Pal or Arinsal which have super easy access to the slopes. Here you get access to all the winter activities and the feel of a ski resort.
@whatemmanuellesees
@whatemmanuellesees Ай бұрын
@guibarbieri8343 Hi! Excellent choice of coming to Andorra to ski as the slopes are gentler for beginners. Personally I don’t think staying in Escaldes is a good idea unless you have your own transportation or the hotel will take you where you ski for the day. Staying in La Massana is a better option as you get quick access to Pal (good for beginners), the cable car takes y’all up to Pal directly from Pal y’all can take the cable car to Arinsal and vice versa (but that requires a bit of an intermediate level). From La Massana y’all can take the bus or hotel shuttle (if available) to Arinsal (or stay in Arinsal a full blown resort) which is good for beginners as the area is smaller easy slopes and easy to find each other. From La Massana y’all can also go to Arcalís by the free ride bus which operates for these three resorts. Then going to Grandvalira from La Massana is not that far as all you need to get to is the Funicamp in Encamp which will take you up to the heart of Grandvalira ski areas and from there you can ski to any resort at Grandvalira though the slopes may require a bit more work. Another option is to stay in Encamp or Canillo both have quick access to Grandvalira but from there going back to Arinsal, Pal or Arcalís is more complicated and time consuming. Again if y’all have your own ride then y’all can stay at Escaldes which is downtown of Andorra La Vella, the traffic may be hectic during ski season. La Massana, Arinsal, Encamp and Canillo are resorts with markets, pharmacies and lots of restaurants to choose from. I’m saying all this thinking that skiing is your number one goal of the trip. Otherwise, Escaldes or Andorra la Vella is more for shopping. Soldeu for luxury hotels, Pas de la Casa is right at the end of the country and the last resort of Grandvalira, it’s the après-ski capital. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions and wishing y’all a great holiday ski vacation in Andorra.

@whatemmanuellesees Thank you for your advice, Im trying to change my reservation to La Massana, but there is no rooms avaliable anymore. Im planning to book a room in Arinsal, what do you think about it ? As you said, from Arinsal I can go easiy to Pal, is that right ? For beginners do you prefer Pal-Arinsal or Grandvalira ? And which of the ski resorts has the best chance of snow?
@whatemmanuellesees
@whatemmanuellesees 14 күн бұрын
@ Hi! Sorry for the late response, for some reason your comment did not appear until today. Yes, you can go to Pal from Arinsal or vice versa as they are connected by a cable car 🚡 ride. From the top of Arinsal you get the cable car to Pal ski area. Arinsal is a small more contained ski area easy for beginners and hard to get lost. Pal is a little bit bigger with more runs so you just stick with runs that you are comfortable going down with. Now, if you decide to ski at Grandvalira then you could stay at Canillo, they have a cable car that can take y’all up to the main ski area of Canillo Montmagic ski school with a few runs for beginners then you could ski to different resorts in Grandvalira which is much much bigger easier to get lost. It’s snowing right now and will continue for a couple more days with below zero temperatures especially at night. Arinsal usually has good snow as it’s small easier for them to make snow for the area when it’s necessary. Let me know if you have any other questions that I may be of help. Merry Christmas 🎄 and happy skiing!

@@whatemmanuellesees Hi, I am really glad to see your reply! I’ve watched all your videos and they inspired me to book a winter vacation in Andorra. Could you please share some additional tips? We are staying at a hotel in Canillo and from what I understood from your videos, we can take the gondola to the top and easily ski to El Tarter and Soldeu. Is that correct? As an intermediate skier how long would it take to ski to El Tarter? Is it possible to ski to El Tarter then return to Canillo by bus? We’re going during the last week of February. In general are the slopes crowded at that time and are there long waiting queues for the lifts? Any other recommendations you have in general? Maybe good restaurants, shops, or other things to see or do? ☺
@whatemmanuellesees
@whatemmanuellesees 3 ай бұрын
@Frogy11000 Hello, thank you 😊 for your kind words. Canillo is a good family ski resort, the gondola 🚠 will take y’all to the top where the ski school is and from there y’all can take the chairlift lift to go to other ski areas like el Tarter, Soldeu, Encamp, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa then ski back to Canillo as they are all well connected, which means y’all don’t have to take the bus back to Canillo, do check the map of all the runs in Grandvalira. Y’all will be fine as the runs are gentle unlike runs in Austria a red could be black, for example. Last week of February can still be busy as it’s still half term for the French students as different regions go at different times. It can be busy getting on the chairlifts especially at el Tarter I found. It takes no time from the top of Canillo to el Tarter 15 - 20 minutes if not busy. All ski areas at Grandvalira are well connected, no bus ride needed to go from one area to another unless the gondola 🚠 stops working for technical reasons…then buses are available. Y’all can even ski to Encamp, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa with no trouble with intermediate level, just to enjoy skiing at all areas at Grandvalira. I usually spend a whole day skiing all over Grandvalira, lunch at Pas de la Casa then ski back to el Tarter which takes me about an hour to make my way back (weekday skiing but it can be longer on weekends due to the crowds). Make sure you factor in the weather conditions as well. Canillo is a good ski resort town with easy access to the cable car up to the top, loads of restaurants and small cafes, pharmacy and supermarkets, plus an ice skating ring. I’m usually out on the first lift before other skiers get up and get going, Spanish skiers tend to start later around 10:30 then lunch around 1:00pm ish so I stay skiing while everyone is at lunch as well. If you fancy going shopping then Andorra la Vella is the place, the bus will take you straight to downtown Andorra la Vella for a shopping trip but Pas de la Casa is also a shopping destination and the après-ski capital of Andorra. I can recommend a few places to dine but they are not in Canillo, good restaurants are at Soldeu, Andorra la Vella, but y’all are staying at Canillo. I saw some good places but I personally haven’t tried them out yet. There’s a zip line and short roller coaster ride at the top of Canillo and Montmagic skiing in the woods when the snow conditions permit, it can be real fun. Also, dog sledge trail at Grau Roig which is pretty cool, do check if the snow mobiles are available as I did it a few times but at PAL and Arcalís. Go to Canillo tourist office to check on other activities that they may have for this ski season. If I missed anything or if you have any other questions, do feel free to ask and I’ll try to answer them to my best knowledge. Have an awesome ski vacation Okiedokie ⛷️😊
