Having graduated from Tuck back in the First Ice Age…. I can honestly say the speaker in this video absolutely, positively, nails it. The school is wonderful in many ways - academic resources, faculty, location, etc - but your Tuck classmates are equally amazing - thoughtful, diverse experiences which they bring, encouraging and supportive. Fifty years later, some of my best friends and closest colleagues were Tuck classmates. Good luck with your admission. If the person he describes in this video resonates with you, applying there is the RIGHT decision.

Thanks for the great video. Super helpful! One question about the INSEAD's second language requirement - would Korean and English suffice the requirement for native Koreans? or would I have to be proficient in another language if I am Korean?

I’m going to college for a 4 year degree in business, but there’s a program where I can get my MBA at the same time no extra cost, should I do it?
@mbaMission5 күн бұрын
This seems like a good opportunity, so it is certainly worth considering. However, keep in mind that many employers who hire MBAs are also interested in their transferable skills from their work experience prior to their MBA. Employers may also prefer applicants from top MBA programs, so if this program happens to be less prestigious, it may be worth working for a few years and then applying to an MBA program that is a better fit for you, in terms of helping you achieve your career goals. Additionally, keep in mind that it is very difficult to be admitted into an MBA program down the road, if you already have completed a prior MBA.

great video. I'll start my process in INSEAD, Ny question is: would be better to do a GEMBA in the French or Singapore Camus? My goal is to go in depth in the pharmaceutical asian market. Now, I'm working in Colombia. So, what could you suggest me?
@mbaMission5 күн бұрын
All three campuses within the INSEAD Global EMBA will add great value to your career and provide you with a lifelong network. Keep in mind the slight logistical differences across these three, such as start date and length of program. However, all things equal, if your goal is to focus on the pharma Asian market, then we suggest the Singapore campus because of its greater ties within Asia with regard to recruiting opportunities and network.

Im currently in senior year of high school what would be y’all’s advice to get into a top graduate school such as Hbs,cbs,Wharton ?what would you recommend doing to increase your probability’s of getting into one of this top mba programs?
@mbaMissionАй бұрын
Business school is a long way off, but it is impressive that you are already thinking about ways to boost your profile when it is time to apply. Your grades in university are very important to MBA admissions committees, so during your upcoming time in college, focus on earning high grades from the very beginning. MBA programs also want to see applicants who have engaged in extracurriculars during college. I suggest joining clubs and becoming a leader in a few of them, in order to show that you have made an impact. And after college, continue to participate in extracurricular activities, perhaps ones related to what you did during college. Upon college graduation, MBA programs like to see 4-5 years of full-time work experience before an applicant applies. Therefore, while you will not be applying to business school for a while, performing well in and outside the classroom during university will go a long way in boosting your chances of MBA admission.

What EA scores are admissions looking for (assuming you meet all of the other criteria) to be a competitive applicant ?

What if I have a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering (quant heavy undergrad), but a relatively low GMAT of 670?
@mbaMissionАй бұрын
The MBA application is truly holistic, and these programs want to make sure students have the academic ability to succeed in a rigorous classroom setting. A 4.0 GPA in a quantitative field is impressive and will help your application; it will also help to compensate for a lower than average GMAT score of 670. However, to compete against applicants of top schools, I suggest retaking the GMAT to try to improve your score; you have nothing to lose. You could also consider switching to another exam, such as the GRE. If not, you can still showcase your quantitative abilities in other ways, such as demonstrating them through your professional roles, or even taking a supplemental course in a quantitative field. Keep in mind that demonstrating your quant ability is still only one component of your application. Especially if you have a below average GMAT score, you must show excellence in other aspects of your application, including your essays, resume, and recommendation letters.

do you think MBA is worth it if you already have a CPA?
@mbaMission2 ай бұрын
A CPA is a position, which is basically a specific type of accountant who has taken the CPA exam and has met other requirements. If your goal is to solely focus on an accounting career then a CPA designation is sufficient, and an MBA is not necessary. However, if your goals differ than pure accounting, then an MBA will open up many more types of opportunities and will provide you with a more general management background that will enable you to target other careers. The MBA will also give you the leadership capabilities to manage and lead others, regardless of your industry.

Hi, I am a chemical engineer, graduated in 2017. Worked as a Core chemical engineer for two years and since 2020 I am working in Industrial Digital Transformstion capacity where i am find solutions to solve business pain points using Ai, ML and automation. Please guide should I do an MBA or a technical masters to excel in the career. I find digital more interesting that chemical side. Your advice would be highly appreciated
@mbaMission2 ай бұрын
An MBA and a technical Master's degree can both help you advance your career. Based on our experience in working with engineers, many use the MBA in order to grow into more of a leadership position, where they are managing other engineers and working in a more strategic and big-picture role. I would say that you will learn more technical engineering-related skills in the Master's degree, and you will learn more leadership and strategic-thinking skills in an MBA, as well as transferable skills necessary to transition into a different type of role, or even different type of field. Therefore, it depends on what you are seeking in your future career.

If your visa is not approved, perhaps because of an ability to show sufficient funds to pay for your study and living expenses, or because of missing or incorrect documents, you can still reapply for a visa. This is one reason to apply to MBA programs as soon as you are ready.

Can a paralegal have a shot at getting into the GSB?
@mbaMission3 ай бұрын
Business schools, including top programs such as the GSB, are looking for impressive candidates with different experiences and backgrounds. There is not a job that would turn off an admissions committee simply because of the title of the position. As with any job, you will need to show that you are a true standout among other people at your level, and you must also demonstrate the attributes that schools are seeking, such as leadership potential and quantitative ability. Additionally, keep in mind that the application process is holistic, and work experience is just one component of a school's evaluation.
@Mikebuddy22293 ай бұрын
@mbaMission Thanks. Would a 163 Quant GRE score show Quant ability? I read somewhere that it's in range for programs like Wharton, Stern, and MIT.
@mbaMission3 ай бұрын
The mark of quantitative competence on the GRE is a 162 Quant score. That will reassure most adcoms that you can manage their analytical MBA program.

Great content. What is your opinion on the IMD MBA? They place a strong focus on sustainability and responsible leadership.
@Mikebuddy22293 ай бұрын
Nice Content! I have a question on this topic. Please see below: I'm currently building up my resume, and i have 8 years of experience at 5 😢different companies. I started off working at an Americorp program, which led to me having my first job at a nonprofit. Next, I transitioned over to an M&A law firm where i worked on business transactions and 2 PE firms. Would multiple jobs look bad on a resume to business schools, specifically M7? I received no promotions, and when i made the lateral move, my responsibilities increased, getting me closer to my goal, which is IB. Thank you for your time reading this.
@mbaMission3 ай бұрын
Even though working for 5 companies in 8 years is not ideal for top schools to see, it is also not necessarily a dealbreaker for them. This is especially true if, as you mentioned, your moves have pushed you closer to achieving your career goals. You will want to incorporate the motivations of your professional journey into your story. It is also important to demonstrate the impact you have made in each role, the leadership skills you have shown, and the transferable experiences you now have that make your post-MBA goals realistic. If you would like to discuss your specific profile in detail and how to craft a cohesive and compelling story, feel free to sign up for a free consultation: www.mbamission.com/consult/mba-admissions/

is it same for the MMS (Masters of Management) course in Fuqua ?
@mbaMission3 ай бұрын
Historically, the MBA and MMS applications are slightly different. But, as far as what the admissions committees are looking for - that "team Fuqua" spirit, that you've done your homework and can explain why the program is right for you, and that you'll make an impact inside and outside the classroom - is the same. But be sure to check the essays for your specific program, as they are likely a bit different.
