The civil war arc was very well written. It makes sense that the silver hand would be vengeful with the culling. And I also liked Uther's character of trying to stop the war against Garathos. Him stepping down at the end is a nice touch. Jainea being a demon is an excellent twist that was both funny but very creative. It made the events believable. I loved the jokes and it is clear that this is meant to entertain but underneath the jokes is a great story with a well thought out plot.

Meanwhile, on Starcraft: Reign of the Void: Salvation of the Dominion… Montag's men have found the Warp Gate to the Essence of Infinity. Duke thinks it's not needed to win against the Zerg. Just then, the Dominion has set up a base nearby, and "Empress Kerrigan" wants to have a word. Duke opens the comms channel and Kerrigan shows up on screen. They start off in regards to New Gettysburg; Kerrigan would've done the same as Duke had, and Mengsk really would've agreed. But the reason Kerrigan is mad at Duke is because he upstaged her by taking over what could've been a very important mission for the Dominion. Duke says he just wanted to keep the Emperor's Shadow in reserve in case of a threat to the Dominion from a different angle: the Tal'Darim and eventually the Zerg were very open threats, and thus the ideal smokescreen for some insidious to take advantage of. He then throws back the question of where she had even been when Emperor Mengsk ended up dead, and why Valerian is missing. Kerrigan replies that the Zerg had become far more sneaky than they all anticipated, and that Valerian is being searched for as they speak. The reason Kerrigan is here is because she heard rumors that Duke plans to claim the Essence of Infinity and overthrow the Dominion with it. The General asks who told her that, but she refuses to answer, also bringing up Duke's past of only joining the Dominion because they rescued him and his men long ago when the Confederacy was the main Terran ruling body, putting his true loyalty to the Dominion in question. She sends Ghosts to investigate his base herself, only for one of Duke's hired Arbiters under the Captain's orders to put them in stasis. When Kerrigan's operative doesn't respond to her comms, she assumes the Ghost was killed and refuses to believe otherwise when Captain Warfield explains the Arbiter mercenary, given she knows of Duke's prejudice against the Protoss. She then declares she's demolishing Alpha Squadron, and that Omega Squadron should join her if they want to live. Montag thinks she's mad, and that he's under a deal with Kel-Moria to find this Essence, which ends up marking him as her enemy too. Surrounded on all sides, Duke decides that seizing the Essence of Infinity might be their only chance to survival. Montag leads him with a small company to the Warp Gate, and Captain Warfield is given the task to defend the base alongside the mercenaries from both the Dominion and the Zerg (None of Morik's Infested Terrans hired by Duke were left in the previous battle). While Warfield sings a sick beat with his men as they repel Dominion and Zerg with Mira Han's mercenaries, Montag and Duke eventually reach the Guardian and plow through him, and the general muses on whether Zerg regenerative properties can be implemented on machinery (never biological, of course). They end up finding means to give units that use Energy extra Energy to start with as well or instead. (Essentially, Regenerative Bio-Steel and Cellular Reactor upgrades) Once they're before the Essence of Infinity, Montag finds the apocalyptic log nearby warning of its corruptive properties and says they should leave. Duke believes otherwise, but adds that he's not using the Essence on HIMSELF; maybe it can be implemented onto his Siege Tank? Montag isn't sure if the Essence might engulf it if he approaches and not give him enough or any time to exit the Tank. He also reminds him that Kerrigan is still around as well and could very well use the Essence for herself. Duke realizes how much of a problem that would be, and decides to deny the Essence to her OR the Zerg. After Montag takes the log of course while Duke takes no chances and sets his Tank to Siege Mode. Sensing its existence threatened, the Essence starts mutating (into a Mature Chrysalis), only for the Arclite Siege Cannon to obliterate it entirely. The chamber then starts shaking as the two take their leave. Duke, Montag, and their men return to their base with the research acquired from studying the Guardian. Captain Warfield has lost his Goliath and is standing by in the Command Center. He is informed of what was done with the Essence of Infinity, and that they don't need such profane boons to prevail; they will learn from what their enemies have and adapt, but never use them directly (hiring them as mercs does not count). And that once Alpha and Omega Squadron deal with Zasz AND Kerrigan, they will find Valerian and appoint him as the rightful Emperor of the Dominion. On top of the Dominion and Zasz's Brood, the latter also has a bunch of Ultralisk Caverns where a Super Ultralisk continually spawns. Montag admits he missed the old days when he did fight by Duke's side. Zasz calls Duke a fool for destroying the Essence of Infinity, to which he doesn't give a damn. Kerrigan still believes Duke has the Essence of Infinity, to which he says he got rid of it, which in turn enrages her because she couldn't believe it. Eventually however, he manages to bring her to her senses, secure her base with his own, and promises that they will find Valerian together once they stop Zasz. The stress of the battle however means that Kerrigan has to sit out the rest of the battle as advised by her old friend Montag. The united forces of Alpha Squadron, the Ghosts who were still alive after Kerrigan's stunt, Omega Squadron, their Kel-Morian escorts, and the hired Mira Han Mercenaries finish off Zasz's Brood, much to his disbelief. Still, he claims to be eternal even as an array of Siege Tanks blow his body to bits. As for the soul that emerges, one of the Ghosts senses it and uses their psionics to obliterate it. With his mission concluded, Omega Squadron will return to the Dominion. Duke intends to ask to to have Captain Horace Warfield be promoted to General. But before they go off to find Valerian alongside Kerrigan, there is one last scum Duke feels needs to be dealt with first… Later on… Rames Jaynor tells his spy to rally "the others" to the outlying worlds. Unfortunately for him, the anti-Zerg countermeasures the real Jim had called for under Duke's orders has started to pay off as the spy is killed. Via the hired Arbiter all the way back from Char, Duke and his men warp in via Recall as he asks about the countermeasures he asked for "earlier", which Jaynor say's he'll see to, outing himself as a result, and his disguise is stripped by one of Duke's men, revealing him to be…Zasz?! But no, turns out "Jaynor" is some other Cerebrate, and he's not sharing his name. (A/N: Because Reign of the Void/The Molten Throne has not reached THAT point of the campaign yet.) "Jaynor" tries to use Raynor as his hostage, but Duke was about to call his bluff when he acquiesced and had the real Raynor brought over. As he explained that the damned Impostor under Jaynor's control seized him between sending the message back at Tarsonis and returning to his side after the infested Terrans outed themselves, Duke had him scanned, was cleared as clean, and is sent back to Korhal. Duke then confronts "Jaynor" and presumes him to be behind Mengsk's death, and Kerrigan's pursuit of him for the Essence of Infinity so she could claim it. He then proceeds to have his forces wail on him, but "Jaynor" turns out to be built differently as he inexplicably teleports away while his Zerg spawn to distract Duke's men. Unfortunately for him, as he loudly "muttered" about needing to report this ill news to Daggoth, Alpha Squadron is one step ahead as the Ghost that killed Zasz's soul paints a Nuke on him as soon as he shows up. This Nuke is specially designed, and kills the Cerebrate in one shot, leaving his soul vulnerable to the Ghost afterward. This Ghost then reports of the neutralization and of the name Daggoth. Duke shelves that name for later as he, Warfield, and their men return to Korhal to report to the second Emperor Mengsk and Kerrigan. En route, they encounter Atticus Carpenter, who apologizes for not believing him about Arcturus' verdict on New Gettysburg, as well as not stopping Kerrigan from taking over. Duke decides to let it pass this time as Carpenter considers stepping down from field duty to serve as an instructor instead before they all convene at the Imperial Palace in Augustgrad. As they pass the audience that gathered to celebrate Alpha Squadron's return, there are a few protesters regarding New Gettysburg, but they're in the minority. Soon, Duke, Warfield, and the Ghost who killed the Cerebrate souls reach the throne room where not only Valerian and Kerrigan are waiting, but also Montag, a Kel-Moria representative, Raszagal, Carpenter, Raynor (representing Umoja), and Artanis. Duke is ready to report on his campaign, and he will also hear of Valerian's own escapade during this whole mess. Kerrigan is lucky that he's keeping her around as Emperor's Shadow still. From his dimension, Ouros approves of how things turned out and will be watching. Warfield, now a General, finishes his own report.

Man I would love to see the ripple effect of this Campaign affects others (Especially with Thrall and the Night Elves) I didn't really liked the Cannon Human Campaign anyways (especially Arthas and his lack of resourcefulness in not getting Exorcists involved in the fight in THAT mission) Also Mad Respect for the classic footman voice from WC2 with Rothar. I'm also glad Muradin Survives this story!

While AI voice acting has allowed for many modding opporunities, it still needs some work. Case in point, Duke's warning to Jack is quite nonchalant to the point it comes off as somewhat funny.
