Sweet photo, and I love your grandmother's voice singing this family favorite song. My 93 year old father still sings it every Mother's Day. My mother used to accompany him on the piano before her stroke. Such a tender, heartfelt song. Thank you.

Thanks, Joanne. My maternal grandmother died two years before I was born, so I never knew her. My mom always told how much Grandma would have loved me, and I always felt it in my heart. I had never heard her voice, and having these custom vinyl recordings is such a treasure to me!

I was a singer at Cedar Point one year with your dad, although we never had the opportunity to sing together. He was a phenomenon. I could only hope to come close to his talent. ❤

Maybe respect this as a grave site and not a tourist attraction, people, locals lost family here! Have some fucking respect!

The bodies were moved to Minden, just at the base of the mountain. They were stored in a building that's very close to the sheriffs office. Long brick building. At least when I lived there. Use to be part of BNC. Thereafter, we called it the morgue. Engineers working above had some real odd things happen. There was probably 20 feet of snow, at least, when it hit.

I just found this video. Thank you for posting. I have an opportunity to visit Reno this year and I was wondering if there is access to the crash site. My father, his cousin & his cousin's wife were on that plane. Very sad day for lots of us.

Yes, you can access the crash site. It's about 9 miles north of South Lake Tahoe near Genoa Peak. My brother-in-law's father was on that plane as well. My sister found out about the location through her geocaching app. It's a bit of a hike to get there, but it was well worth it. I'm so sorry for your loss.

@@srwylie can you give me more details on the location of the site? I am having trouble using the app (old dog syndrome) and am in the area for a few days and would like to try and get up there. Thanks!

@Sandi Cumberland Here's a link to an article about the 50th anniversary of the crash www.tahoedailytribune.com/news/local/relatives-remember-tahoes-worst-plane-crash-50-years-later I don't remember how we found the location. It was almost as if we had stumbled on it. The news articles say that the plane crashed into Genoa Peak, which is north of state route 207. It has been a few years since we were there, and I don't remember exactly how we got there.

I promised my dad that I was share this, since he wasn't at the service to hear it live. This was the Anthem we sang at our contemporary Pentecost service on Sunday, May 19.
