I took same journey from heavy ADV bikes to Medium size ADV to GPX FSE250E. I have owned GPX 250 E for over a year w zero issues. Bike has been reliable, robust, & definitely helped my confident in the dirt climbing steep hills with rocky rough terrain to deep sandy washes..only $4000 brand new & seen a few used ones for $2700..if yu are on the fence..do it!! Yu wont regret it..simple basic reliable fun...!

This is a really fantastic endorsement, thanks for sharing! Did you have to upgrade the rear spring to something stiffer? I was able to via a Racetech spring and it has made a ton of difference in the rear end, then again with a backpack I'm around 250lbs on the bike. I'm hoping to ride mine again tomorrow!

@MotoBeemer i did installed racetech rear spring for my weight after riding 250E for a year & my skills improved. Made a huge difference in comfort, confidence climbing hills & overall performance. I,m always eager to ride such a fun reliable torquey 250cc to do street errands & ride in dirt....

I was wearing cheap boots for a short run out and dropped my T700 and landed on my right leg. I also thought it wasnt broken. After 10days of limping and walking sideways i went to my local small hospital in Bulgaria and paid 10euros for an xray. I had a hairline crack in the fibia. So ended up with a cast for a month. I had good boots but wasnt wearing as iiiii thought I wasn't riding far and hadn't planned off sealed road. Always wear the good boots now

The name is not proounced Moto-Z it is MotOZ as on the Wizard of Oz. Brocken down MotO meaning Motorcycle and the O having a double meaning together with the Z is OZ, which is the abbreviation for Australia. Put together is one word MotOZ not MotO-Z and not MotO-Zee. By the way, the nickname for people from Australia is Aussie not Ozzy as that's the nickname for someone from the old DDR (old east Germany). Your welcome 😉 Ride Safe🤗

Great point about balancing flexibility and protection, I am always for more comfort and agility. Will see to try some models. But better change the bike :), 1250GS is way too heavy and clumsy, only shines on the highway. Even 850/900GS is too heavy to have fun. 200kg (450lb) bikes are much better and good balance for some offroad adventure and long rides. (Transalp XL750, CB500X, Suzuki VStrom 650, etc..), much more capable and fun for curvy roads and some medium offroad.

I have been a huge fan of my Leatt 5.5 Enduros, and am also sticking to light dirt trails with the GS from now on. I have my 250 for harder dirt stuff, it's the best of both worlds I suppose. For long trips, especially 2 up, the GS really does shine however.

I found them lacking traction on a Vstrom650. Lighting up the rear in second when leaned over isn't cool! I had no confidence in cold and wet. Maybe tc is hiding this trait from you? Great on dry, great on gravel and hard pack. They do flat spot pretty badly.
@MotoBeemer
@MotoBeemer 18 күн бұрын
Have you thought about trying a different tire since?
@got_to_roll
@got_to_roll 18 күн бұрын
@MotoBeemer, I find the Michelin Anakee Adventure suits my use very well. Great traction on paved in any weather or temp short of snow or ice. It's fine on gravel and hard pack. Not for offroad. They do have some noise, especially when leaned over. Kind of a whine. I get 8-10k miles out of a rear on my SuperTenere. I've been running the Trailmax Mission front though I don't love it, especially on tar snakes.
@MotoBeemer
@MotoBeemer 16 күн бұрын
@@got_to_roll I've had trouble on some tar snakes a well. I think it's all about tradeoffs, some of the best performing tires I've run for both street at dirt have been MOTOZ or the Trailmax Raid, but their longevity suffers. The TMM last a lot longer but it's a harder tire and as such, might not be as good as the others related to performance. It's sort of like saying "I want a boot that offers the absolute most protection, but that is also super comfortable to walk around in." Such a thing does not exist.
