I'll add this comment re: tuba part for anyone who comes across this for learning purposes on arranging for a small brass ensemble. Don't put it in transposed treble clef! Not all tuba players in a brass quartet, quintet, or otherwise will have a B flat tuba! Anyone playing a C, E flat, or F tuba will drag you to the street and have public words with you! Just put in bass cleff in C and let us do the work in the correct way instead of doing mental gymnastics trying to re-transpose it.

Tuba part is for F tuba. Transposing time.

it’s for bb as the piece is in d minor and you can see by the key signature it’s been transposed up a tone

I did an arrangement for woodwind quintet. We both took our arrangements by referencing the original. But it struck me how similar the vocings are between yours and mine. Of course it will sound better with 5 horns over a woodwind quintet.

4:30 the only critique I have is that the octave interval with the flute parts sounds awkward. In the real song it’s a 3rd interval and in my opinion that sounds less forced than the octave

Yea you are right but I hadn't much other choices. The flutes were the only ones who could have done that properly and sadly I didn't have other instruments to play with because that has been wroten for an existing ensemble.

Haha I actually love tuba but the tubist who is playing with le used to be a saxophonist so he is used to treble clef

Apparently it's not uncommon for tuba parts to be written in treble clef in certain circumstances? I also much prefer bass clef, but just sharing the knowledge

@@Invalid06 Yeah neither, and I've rarely seen any. But finding sheet music like this along KZbin, I've seen a few examples of it, and people saying it's just how they compose in certain groups and such. But yeah, idk.

Nice work, but to save for needing those extra parts, don’t double the trombone and trumpet II, instead double it to trumpet1, who would take melody. Just watch doubling, and it could be great. Structure potential is there. Just too many parts for it to be a quintet.

Thx for the advice ! Actually it is supposed to be a quintet because the third trumpet is optional. But sadly the part names didn't appear on the video
