This version of Damien strays far way from the original character and is inconsistent with the first two films. It looks more like it was made for television than the theaters.

Only a small brain would consider the idea of expelling organic resources from the spaceship into space. Keep the system closed, nothing is lost, resource levels remain the same.

Touched by an angel was a quite nice show, although it was more than just obvious it got inspired by "Highway to Heaven" with Michael Landon. Well, you can sometimes call Touched a ripoff. Anyway, it was entertaining.
