Wait im confused. You need that box you showed us to use the deep composer?

You don't need the physical keyboard to create compositions with AWS DeepComposer. You can input the melody via a computer keyboard or by clicking the keys on the screen as well. More information is available here - aws.amazon.com/deepcomposer/ .

This composition sucks. If you need an automatic compsing tool try Captain Chords/ melody/ Deep etc.. much more creative experience.

Thanks for the feedback. Captain Chords is a good option to create chord progressions based on personal preferences/tastes. However, AWS DeepComposer provides automated chord progressions (and filler chords) and the user can then fine tune the output on their favorite Digital Audio Workstation.

It's interesting... You know it's really just not good. A company called PG Music produces a product called Band-In-a-box that can do something similar but the quality is much better. DigiTech even licensed their technology for a stand alone pedal that can take a part from a guitar or keyboard and generate a bass line and drum pattern in real-time.... I get that the Amazon product is cloud based and each input contributes to the learner getting better, but I think Amazon should allow musicians to use their service with any USB MIDI Controller and not have to buy this specific one.

Thanks for the feedback. You don't have to buy the keyboard to use AWS DeepComposer and can you use your computer/laptop keyboard to provide input in the AWS DeepComposer console.

hey and how can you use this on the actual market?

Hi, it is possible to use this on the market but it is important to understand the risks involved in trading.

I have to say, that sounds horrible! Notes randomly placed, offkey etc... Other companies did that a lot better! Waste of time in my opinion... don't tell me that you like the output that it gave you...

Hi Nick, the objective of my video series is to document the creative process of generating compositions using Machine Learning (ML) and not to judge each composition. The whole video series is developed to better understand what music is generated by those 8 ML models given a classical piece each week.

nice. I'm surprised it takes so long to provision sagemaker instances. Think I'll stick with colab + local. But would consider aws when I'm looking to scale (since I've got some good spot price bidding algs.

Thanks for the comment, Jon. Yes, this was just a proof-of-concept and a local execution of this notebook should work fine to determine the "best" RL strategy for a single ETF/stock. However, if one wants to execute this notebook for several stocks, test multiple RL reward schemes, deploy "best" models as endpoints and generate inferences on real data, I'd highly recommend leveraging Amazon SageMaker services.

yup. lots of options out there. for scaling I'd leverage the fact that sagemaker is just a Docker container notebook and look for the most flexible/cheapest place to scale it. so yes, an aws gpu ec2 spot price is 70% discounted over the norm and is probably the best option.

Hi Martin Paradesi, I have a issue in my Music studio, there's no sample model available, so it doesn't create anything, and i'm using virtual keyboard. what should i do?
@martinparadesi
@martinparadesi 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vikram, sorry to hear about this issue. Have you tried changing the "Generative AI technique" in the Model parameters section on the right to "Generative adversarial networks"? The default models should be available in the "Model" dropdown two fields below it if "MuseGAN" was selected in the "Generative algorithm" dropdown.

Thanks for the comment, Keith. This video was recorded as soon as AWS DeepComposer was launched as preview at AWS re:Invent 2019. At that point in time, I felt like the results did sound good but if you check out my other recent videos, I believe that the compositions sound better.

@@martinparadesi But i read that you do not need that midi keyboard.. You can do with any other midi keyboard or just playing the keys with the mousee.. So why buy this keyboard for 100... It´s not necessary. Can you use the online software without buying the keyboard?
@martinparadesi
@martinparadesi 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Amatteus, you are correct that you can use your computer's keyboard to play an input melody. I prefer the DeepComposer keyboard for at least two reasons - 1. I've been playing key instruments for several years and it feels natural and quick for me to play any tune on the DeepComposer keyboard and 2. Although the DeepComposer keyboard has keys that cover only 2.5 octaves, I find myself using the octave adjust features on it quite frequently. I know that the console has a similar feature as a drop-down menu and I believe that the latency for switching octaves via the console is much higher than that on the DeepComposer keyboard.

@@martinparadesi Thanks. But I already have 4 midi keyboards..I am an electronic musician.. Do I need to buy AWS midi keyboard.. Any difference?
@martinparadesi
@martinparadesi 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Amatteus, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, I have not tested DeepComposer console with any other MIDI keyboard. If one of your existing MIDI keyboards works with the DeepComposer console, you should be fine. DeepComposer service is available for free for the first 12 months so please feel free to test it - aws.amazon.com/deepcomposer/pricing/ .
