I started on Rover when I lost my job late last summer and right now, my problem is that because I don't have a car, I have to restrict my range to one mile and because I am new, I don't have clients. Hopefully, that will change soon since walking dogs is fun for me.

I would add flea comb, flea shampoo and flea/tick prevention. Also, if you have another dog, add a house line (leash without the loop) for safer introductions!

Hilarious. People complaining about a 3 min video for something they didn't know. There's always a price to pay for knowledge in this case.... Time.

what to do if a small dog is aggressive toward other dogs, but sometimes she shows so much desire and happiness to meet with some other dogs, and the owner doesn't mind, but you don't know, how your dog will react, if you come closer to that dog? for example, the small dog I walk liked a Pitbull, and he showed he want to play with her. But I was worrying all the time, that my dog will show aggression suddenly, and Pitbull can just eat her, as he is much bigger and stronger, although he behaved very culm and friendly at that moment. So I think because I decided to take her away from him, she decided that Pitbull was a threat for us, and started show aggression to him. So I think, was it my fault that they didn't make friendship, or it was better to separate them before something bad happened? I thought may be that dog could show her, that the other dog can be a friend, not a threat, so she doesn't need to be aggressive to all unknown dogs.

I run a business called Catella Hotel. They have a room and learn to socialize with other cats and humans when they are ready. They are checked and treated for fleas daily . If they have fleas, they will be treated at a very low rate. (Usually $35 dollars and good for months.) All dietary needs and exercise is encouraged. Some cats actually like KZbin videos daily....WARNING your cat may not want to go home...we spoil them so bad.

What a lovely video, and I suggest maybe putting the crucial note about waiting a few weeks before returning a dog due to the stress, and then maybe immediately follow up with the story of your Israeli dog. 💗I am sure many people have no idea about this! It was very touching and a great way to get the point across! Actually, maybe make a separate video just about that one fact of waiting to decide and allowing the dog to decompress :). Thanks so much for all you do, I'm about to adopt a 9 yo who had seems to have had a good home and loved cats, and I have a cat. The dog is very mellow. My cat loves dogs. So fingers crossed.

For me, worst part of dog fostering was dealing with rescue organization who was obsessed with money and selling those dogs rather then doing what’s good for dog. They would often let two puppies be adopted and completely ignored risk of littermate syndrome, they would give unvaccinated puppies to fosters with 5 adult dogs who were outdoors, etc… I also didn’t like as a foster how much they pushed dog to be rehomed even at expense of dog’s health and safety. I remember when vet said that my foster can be spayed after heat, but then, organization interfered with it. I absolutely love dogs but I hated to work with organization that didn’t have dogs best interest in heart. Never again!

I also read to do this. My new dog is digging everywhere. This morning, when I went out, he had dug an 8 inch deep hole, the biggest one so far, I'm so frustrated! I'm going to try this. I have five dogs and he is digging holes and destroying so many things. My other dogs are so easy comparedto him. He'slike having 3 toddlersrunning around. I would say he has destroyed at least $500.00 worth of shoes, glasses, and more so far. I keep a clean house, but he manages to sneak things when I have my back turned.

I still do not understand the transitions.😞 We need to understand how to crate train a rescue that is not a puppy, how they can feel safe in their crate... It is the how that is lacking... and why dogs fail. People fail them. But we don't know how... to transition. Bowls are the least of our worries. My dog needs to be left alone when she sleeps,.. I too need to be left alone when I sleep. = dogs get their own beds. so I can't have them sleep in the same room. And when that transition period ends.. Not sure what to do.

We have just adopted a 12 month old rescue dog and he has immediately fallen in love with my husband and practically ignores me. The only time I can engage with my dog is when I give him a puppy massage which he loves. He follows my husband everywhere and seeks him out to sit with, play with etc. I have tried taking over feeding and playing with no success. I have a spinal injury which is taking a long time to heal and stops me from being able to walk him. What can we do?

Great video... but I shutter when I see the dogs (especially new fosters or rescue dogs) all over your bed. I like them having their own plush beds.. and open crates .. like a den for them. How to teach them off furniture is so important.... and them being rewarded for going to their bed.

All 4 of my dogs have been rescues, but all 4 were also gotten at 1yr or younger. I think getting them so young has avoided a number of the problems most videos and blogs warn about, they all have pretty much jumped right into being "pets" just needing to refine house manners and build training

If you are thinking about fostering if not through the shelter. #1- KNOW THE RESCUE CO. Know who they are, what contracts they offer, how long they have been in business, and what exactly do they expect of you. BE VERY CLEAR and talk to others first.. Will they give you a voucher for your vet, or do you have to travel across town to their vet? Do they allow you to see the vet and talk to the vet about your concerns? Private rescues work hard only to fold quickly and leave the dogs to fosters. Otherwise - everything is above board when you foster through a city shelter. It's a better bet, and it's legal; just be sure to know there is NO FEDERAL LAW regarding rescuing dogs and cats. The foster does 95% of the work, and they are not protected from the many nefarious rescues with power-hungry weirdos. Everyone thinks they can place animals quickly but not in this climate. 2024 -- Supply and demand, it's outrageous to think they can turn a profit. What kind of business model do they even think they have? They don't and the expense ends up in your lap. I wonder how rescues can think they can feed 10-20 dogs and place them when the shelters are at 200% capacity with healthy, beautiful dogs. Again, beware with the private rescues.

If your dog will take kibble as treats that can save you money on treats until they need something more. Could also help with fast eaters by spacing out the food. Discovered on day 3 that my new rescue was just as interested in kibble as treats. We have a small very centralized house, we keep the bedrooms closed unless we are in them and are working on getting him to understand our kitchen is a no-go zone even though there is no door. He wont be allowed at my parents house for a while since it is much bigger and he would get in pleanty of trouble very quickly.

Okay so I have been working at a doggy Daycare for about a month now and another thing is the PULLING! What I do is every time they pull I stop and wait for the slack on the leash then we can start walking again. They usually get a bit better if not they will walk beside you. Some dogs will be more stubborn and strong though so you gotta watch out for that. I can't say if this works with multiple dogs as we usually walk one at a time but this is something that usually works for me even if it is just a little bit and something to be aware of

I got a rescue on Tuesday he’s a Glenn of imaal terrier ,the reason we choose him was not because he’s a rare or expensive breed he was the breed i have the most experience with he’s very good but very anxious he was one of the worst conditioned ‘dog they had he’s very: small, slightly under weight ,a collar that was far to tight and hadn’t been taken of in 3 weeks and a narly cut on his face

I am living this now10-30- 24- I did the exact same thing off the internet. DO NOT rescue with a rouge rescue. Be referred FOR SURE and get a dog that was vetted. Do not proceed without a contract with what is expected of you.
