I flew PLAY from Stewart New York to Keflavik to Amsterdam a few months ago. Everything went very smoothly. I paid extra for luggage and legroom, but they make it very clear on their website that you must purchase at the time of booking.

Contour now holds the EAS contract for this city… they serve Phoenix

Lovely trip report. The food on this flight was better than my expectation on a Delta flight, but still could have been improved. Delta One Suite is a great business class seat.

Sad they cancelled this route. I remember when it was added in 2022. That’s ridiculous the new EAS contract is for flights to Phoenix. 👎

I live close to Stewart, and have already taken several PLAY flights to Europe via KEF. I was intrigued by the Faroe Islands, and was doing some research about it. Oh well.

I was going to fly PLAY out of SWF, but it’s not daily, and it didn’t line up with the day I wanted to fly out. I did fly them out of BOS tho

Great review. I'm sad to see this flight go, as the Faroe Islands are definitely high on my bucket list of places to travel to. I wonder if they would've had more success flying to an airport closer to NYC, like HPN or LGA.

Not to split hairs, but LaGuardia IS in NYC! HPN is in the county of Westchester, just north of NYC.

I recently flew from NY Stewart to Amsterdam via Keflavik on PLAY. I paid for extra legroom up front. No complaints at all. Very pleased with service and price.

@@wotan10950 no complaints here either, good airline. I was going to fly out of SWF, only reason I didn’t is cause their SWF service isn’t every day and they didn’t have it the day I wanted to leave, but I did fly into SWF… with Atlantic Airways 🙂

1. I know there must be a reason but not flying over the lake seems silly. 2. If the dumb-ass mayor Daley wouldn't have destroyed Megis Field, such an airline would have a nice perk of landing downtown Chicago instead of ORD, but one couldn't connect with AA, Alaska or UA. 3. JetBlue has ruined PQI. United had 2 outbound flights a day, both at reasonable times (7am and 3pm). JetBlue cut service to one outbound flight a day at a ridiculous 5:30am. The taxi companies don't even open until 6am in Northern Maine. So people now have to camp out overnight at the terminal because of JetBlue's bullshit reduced schedule. Screw JetBlue, bring back United Airlines.

Gotta wait two years until the contract ends, then it’s up to the community and DOT again. Only reason they reduced to one is the bigger plane, they actually have more weekly seats than UA

do you have to pre book the shuttle from hawthorn to lax? former southern californian here (where flying internationally was easy). i have lived on the southern oregon coast for 10 years and this is the FOURTH airline that we have had out of crescent city…. none of them stay long. flying internationally out of crescent city to oakland isn’t great…. lax is better IF you can make the connections. sounds dicey. thoughts? i have a trip planned to sicily next year and the logistics of getting there is frying my brain. no, i do not want to leave out of medford it must be cec.

You book the shuttle directly with the airline when you get your flights. And the shuttle lines up with your arrival into HHR 🙂

Funny thing is, several of these CRJ 200's, mostly SkyWest owned, have been put back in service, on EAS routes, out of DTW, until conversions are done to turn them into 550's.

Yeah, I saw that SkyWest was brining a handful of them back. I would really like to get on one of them but it’s so hard to plan because the flights are so sporadic.

We were served chicken thigh which is the cheapest part of the chicken. Otherwise our meal was OK. Fortunately we got extra legroom seats for only $60. their regular seats have very little legroom.

How was the load? There are now 3 airlines flying this route. Flew Delta 30 years ago GVA to JFK. In those days there was a stop in Paris on an Airbus.

It was pretty full, don’t know about the back but D1 only had a seat or two open
