Is there a format for writing the HAT essay? There seems to be so much information in a given passage that it's pretty hard to draw out a single theme or argument of essay.

Buy a pc with a strong graphics card in 2009 and start mining bitcoin. Mine as much as you can, hold till Dec 2017 and then sell. Jan 2018 is when my younger self can retire and live like a billionaire!

This is a great video! I am definitely interested in applying for this program. What are some things that I could do to make me stand out?

I'm glad you've enjoyed the video. One important thing is to find a topic in philosophy to research, learn a lot about it, talk about it and demonstrate you are willing to go the extra mile to research and learn

Great video for prospective philosophy and theology applicants! I'm wondering, what A-levels did you two do and also what advice would you give to trying to get into this course at Oxford. E.g. what super-curricular / extra'curriculars did you and what work experience?

For a levels i did history math religious studies and spanish, i run the philosophy for all youtube channel, ran the philosophy society at my high school, wrote a lot of articles for random high school journals. Did an epq and more. Just try to focus on things which represent your passion and it will set you well

that's so interesting, because I am currently taking history math religious studies and French but my school is making me drop one. I don't know what one to drop. this is almost the exact same as your combination - so which one appeared least useful to you for a philosophy and theology degree Oxford?@@Uni-Talks
@Uni-Talks Жыл бұрын
@@tomoldaker1268 I would say French is the least useful unless you are justifying it with a specific research interest in French philosophy, but then you would have to demonstrate you are interacting with it on a special level

Wow that surprises me, I thought you'd say maths was the least useful. For your degree was there lots of compulsory logic in philosophy? Also, I think I genuinely enjoy French A-level more than maths and would perform better in French. Do you think I can still make a competitive application to Oxford with history religious studies and French A-level or not? (How strongly would you advise picking maths for philosophy and theology at Oxford?) thanks for your responses by the way@@Uni-Talks

@@tomoldaker1268 I would say Math is way more helpful unless, as I said previously, you are studying french phenomenology/ existentialism. Logic is a very big part of first year course, it is a compulsory course on FOL and SOL as discussed in the interview. While math is not necessary, French would require more justification. At the end of the line, if you enjoy french do french. But just find a way to tie it into your ideas. Also, if you find these videos helpful, feel free to point this channel towards your friends. As school starts, I plan to interview more undergrads at top universities to give more valuable content. Furthermore, if you want to learn more about the UCAS application system, I have recently published a book called the UCAS Bible which brings you tips and tricks that has helped students get into Oxbridge, London Unis and more. Thank you very much! Having good friends are so underrated both in uni apps and life. I know for a fact I will not have been accepted into Oxford or Columbia if not for Warren, the same goes the other way! Make sure you surround yourself with great people :)
