Ree has me spellbound this 80 yr old woman performing to sold out audiences while she's dying of cancer.men helping her into n off of the stage n u could see that she was I'll n the body n struggling.but I my god!. Damn, who could have guessed that this would have been among the concert highlights of my life? It was the second time I'd randomly gone to see Aretha because a roommate had tickets (the first time, this was free), and I had no clue she was terminally ill... I just remember the people, the happiness, the weird Coney Island vibe, and of course, the moment she hit stage. And gracious, was it beautiful! She put her all into this show, more even than the Apollo show in '06, and the amount of soul in this particular bit could have brightened the darkest heart in Kings County. Rest in Peace, dear lady.

In the oldest oldest old Black woman's voice you know of, say this: "Everythiang aint for every body." Love this. RIP Aretha. Rest. In. Peace.
