Learning is the one thing in life no-one can take away from you. Jobs transform lives.Kate captures how and why the fusion of #FE and #recruitment professionals working together to deliver LSIPs (#Local Skills Improvement Plans) to address chronic skills shortages is essential.

It is great to see you are still leading the way Jenny. AI and the use of large language models (LLM) is one of the biggest challenges for academic integrity within FE but also one of the biggest opportunities. Keep of the great work.

Hello I saw your KZbin channel and understand you are a KZbinr. Very nice video on your channel, I really enjoyed it. Total 552 subscribers and a Total of 1.3k😢 Uploaded videos of your channel. I noticed one thing according to your channel your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimized a little and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. And monetization of your channel will be on.

Everything we do releases carbon dioxide, so the Carbon Cult want to control everything. There will be global starvation if fossil fuels are eliminated. At risk in coming decades will be half of the world’s 8.5 billion to 10 billion people who are fed by crops grown with fertilizers derived from fossil fuels. Getting to Net Zero by 2050 would cost $9.2 trillion a year globally (McKinsey). That's not going to be good value for money. That's nearly one-tenth of global GDP. That money would be better spent on a myriad of things including educating the fifth of humanity who are illiterate and represent a 7% annual loss to the world's economy. Any country that attempts it will be indebted or impoverished. Example: For the UK to reach net zero by electrification of its transport fleet and heating system, it will require a tripling (as a minimum) of its current electrical generation capacity among other things. This will essentially require the UK consuming all of the current global supply of copper and other rare metals for the next 25 years. The cost will be unaffordable and the skilled manpower levels unattainable. And that is just to eliminate the 1% of the global CO2 emissions that the UK is responsible for. So times that by 100 for the Earth. 10,000 child slaves in the cobalt mines of the Congo not enough for you? Make it a million. Imagine all the human suffering and environmental damage done from all that resource extraction! It's pointless anyway. In just 8 years (prior to 2021) China emitted more CO2 than Britain did since the start of Industrial Revolution that began over 220 years ago! And China plans to vastly increase its coal fired generating capacity. An electric vehicle requires 6 times the mineral input compared to a conventional one, and the carbon cost is greater until you reach 80,000 miles. Production of all of these minerals has been mastered by China: a totalitarian communist regime that thinks nothing of the mass murder of its own citizens, imagine how much it cares about the rest of us. And why are we embarking on this great net zero crusade? For what? So someone can virtue signal by driving around in a Tesla. Maddeningly, there is no climate crisis. The Earth was warmer in the recent and distant past.

This is really useful and good to see. I wanted to get in there with a comment as soon as I saw this video go up!!! In my experience, there’s no dedicated space in the curriculum to help school leavers/FE learners to adequately prepare them to negotiate reasonable adjustments with their employers once they leave school/college. Similarly, how to disclose a disability, requesting flexible working and challenging discrimination or the Access scheme are not covered in the curriculum. Young people usually only find out about these things when they hit the brick wall of being in a position when they need to know about them. This doesn’t just apply to neuro-divergent learners/employees, but to anyone who may fall under the protected characteristic of disability. I have a specific interest in neurodiversity, but also in physical conditions such as cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis in particular. I’m aware that many people living with these conditions are not adequately equipped with the knowledge they need, until they find themselves in a situation where they are adversely affected as a result of not having been taught how to address these issues. I feel that there is a strong case for not just educating employers about these issues, but also for educating young people as early as possible, because they will more than likely need to be equipped with this knowledge at some time in their working lives. Thanks for sharing, I will be using this video to stimulate further debate with my colleagues!

Good point, poor edit though. It just cuts out at the end before he makes his point!! It’s most definitely an outdated model and needs a serious overhaul. Vocational education beats academic study hands down in almost every field, though I concede there are still a few where it is relevant. I would hand my degree back with pleasure in a heartbeat for a refund. In reflection, it definitely was not worth the money - I feel I could have done so much better with a different mix of teaching methods and exposure to better insights into Education. Young people need to be taught critical thinking skills ‘prior’ to HE - to help them evaluate whether spending that amount of money and time is truly the right course of action for their future. Just my thoughts...
