The Moto Guzzi looks like a Dondolino, a 500 cc single from the early 50s.

I still remember Agostini racing this bike in Francorchamps.

Will never forget the sound of Ago’s MV going down Bray in the early 70’s (in the Isle of Man). I lived 10 mins away from the first corner! You could hear it coming from the grandstand!

What engine model is that?
@FrankBonessa2 ай бұрын
It's not a Shovelhead, but could be an Evo. Cooling ribs on left are too long for a shovel. The engine is obscured too much to be sure.

True gentleman,met him @ 2nd Barber Festival,get in way ? normally up front.Some yrs ago his 350 failed to fire,jumped on the 250 & still won ahead of a TZ 350 thro' some seriously skilled riding, frustrating the competition taking back markers leaving the TZ stuck behind for a few seconds...... Experience @ work.

Love the choice of intro music (Prisencolinensinainciusol). And i greatly approve of the subject matter being a Duc owner and having a chance to stand beside one of these beasts at Barbers Motorsports Museum.
Gotta admit. It's pretty great and the trailer doesn't do it justice.

"It would lift the front wheel at 150mph" ... Or did he say 160? They made around 55hp at 5500 rpm and weighed 220kgs. Maybe a tad exaggerated? To get 120mph out of one, you needed a very light rider and a very long stretch of road. A brilliant bike, but please, let's put it into context, around 15 seconds over the 1/4 mile, a 2017 Toyota Camry will do it in 16. I did 17 on a 1969 Yamaha 125 trail bike. A legend, yes, 70 years ago. I'm looking forward to watching the docco, Phil Irving is a hero of mine.
@pdr59262 жыл бұрын
I have heard that the HRD Vincent could lift the front wheel easily enough so many times that at one point it has to be true... lol And I have a ZX10R that does lift the front wheel quite easily.
