career mode has been ok for me so far, many bugs(one time I had a ferry missions and it spawned the DA50 I was supposed to be ferrying ontop of a buildings helipad)and the start so far has been boring and very grindy but I'm very hopeful for later on with airlines/cargo and fire fighting missions

You need to do the first mission off a new mission type, to unlock that type of mission on the map. That is why it is marked in gold.

How is your cabin free look working? When I look around it auto centers constantly. When I’m in exterior view it works perfect using the same top hat. This is killing me trying to get the cockpit freelook to not auto center
@canadiansimgamer
@canadiansimgamer 15 сағат бұрын
There is usually two different "looking around" keybinds in flight sim. Quick look, which will look all the way to one side when held down, and center when released which it sounds like you're pressing. There is also just regular camera movement which is a different key bind which lets you smoothly look around without automatically centering. On a computer, it's simply hold right click. I know joysticks can do it as well as the 2 joysticks on my yoke let me do both methods I mentioned. I would check your camera keybinds and look for that other option!
@wingtipsworld5909
@wingtipsworld5909 12 сағат бұрын
@@canadiansimgamer it’s not set to quick view. I’m at work right now but I used the same binding as the external and it works perfect just my cockpit view when I look around (not snap/quick look) it goes back to center. Can you check which exact setting you’re using for your cockpit view so I can match it.

As an actual instrument rated pilot, this is TERRIBLE for training... it gives the basics but doesnt show when to actually turn to intercept the course. You skipped the turning which wouldve taught you that a standard rate turn is 3* a second or about 18* of bank angle. On half deflection you start your turn. Further more, why arent you using the G1000 to its fullest? Set the heading bug and set the altitude bug. Literally stopped at 4 minutes, that wouldve failed a checkride. Multiple Check ride failures for a career are career ending.
@canadiansimgamer

And that's why I'm not a real pilot lol. Just playing for fun and learning as I go, definitely should have done more of the trainings but excited to get through the career and they make the testing way too easy. Thanks for the advice as well; I would definitely try to implement it. I have also watched some G1000 tutorials since and I am beginning to gain a better understanding.

@@canadiansimgamer I realized that my comment sounded unnecessarily harsh. You do this for fun, I do this for money and its cool to see people take a crack at this. Changing your squawk code while on a IFR flight plan is an absolute must however, you can find it at the bottom of the PFD (The left display) under XPDR. Click it and then type in the numbers. You'll have to give a verbal acknowledgement with tail number and new squawk. They may have you ident too. Finally, standard rate turns in the C172 are done at 100 knots IAS. Theres a bunch of other stuff i could go on and on...

Yeah..I definitely thought it would be harder, both in testing and in hours. The training that is optional before the exam is enough I think, if they tested you on the whole thing which is definitely what I thought would happen. It's the same for all of the ratings. They will give you training for "x" "y" and "z "which is extensive enough for a sim, and then only test you on "x" which is odd and kind of too easy.

for the ILS, you needed to switch back to the "Green Needles" using the CDI button. It also seemed that your cruise altitude was higher than the intercept height for the glideslope. i noticed the diamond indicator was below you quite early that you unfortunately missed otherwise id say you would have been fine. Another option is to use the approach button or APP on the autopilot, which will activate the glideslope and CDI capture and fly it for you, you just need to maintain speed with your power settings.

It’s been a while since I’ve flown anything with a G1000, and unfortunately I’m still 17 hours into various loading screens so haven’t been able to get into 2024 yet. However, regarding the altitude capture, from memory you need to change the CDI course again. You changes it from the localiser to GPS early on, you basically use the same button and cycle it back till it’s green and then you’ll get the gsi. If I’m wrong when I eventually get in, I’ll let you know!
