Hi, sir, that was a nice explanation. But in 11.41 minutes, you told me that the radius of the earth is 6.336707 km, but in the slide, it mentioned 6366707 m, which is equal to 6333.707 km right. I am a little bit confused about

Thanks for the slides. Your rotation matrix in slide 4 is incorrect. R= cos psi -sin psi sin psi cos psi

@NoOne-rr3mc 10 ай бұрын
Okay… the confusion here is your rotation matrix is clockwise while the coordinate system is rotating counterclockwise.

First of all, thank you a lot for such beneficial content but I am having a hard time comprehending how does an aircraft which has a heading of 30 degrees could have a south-directed velocity. Can anybody help me figure it out please?

In my humble opinion, in the page where we have A/C (meaning Aircraft) and also MODE A/C, it would be better to write "Aircraft" in lieu of A/C. Thank you.

Am I correct in saying that most of the ADS-B IN units one can purchase to connect to your IPad using Garmin Pilot or Foreflight APPS will be able to directly pickup the Reg, Height and display the Position of any aircraft using a Mode-S ES transponder? Provided the ADS-B IN unit can accept 1090ES transmissions of course. In other words, if you already have a Mode-S ES transponder in your aircraft you don't need to purchase a separate ADS-B Out unit to be seen by pilots only using ADS-B IN (1090ES Capable) units??

The ASR-11 is a medium density terminal radar, and was installed to replace about half of the ASR-8 Radars which were originally fielded in the mid to late 1970's, and is still in use, though a Digitizer had to be implemented to supply digital target data to the modern Automation system, STARS, which cannot utilize the original ASR-8's analog target data.

in ATCRBS, Mode C is altitude only, there is no Mode 3/A interrogation included. That is why the modes are interlaced, usually 3/A, 3/A, C , then repeats for civilian ATC.
@RobertoPietrafesa

Your Mode S All Call slide is completely wrong. You show a SSR with a P4 . This is used a SSR interrogation (intermode) not Mode S All call. P4 is added to stop Mode S transponders (located on aircraft) responding, well a short P4 is and a long P4 is the opposite. Short P4 is recommended and Stops RF pollution when using Mode S and SSR interrogations at same time Apart from that you it’s good 👍

On the Mode C response slide, the bullet point for C1-C4 seems over simplified, the coding given seem to hold only for altitudes of 0, 1000, 2000... and not for 500, 1500, 2500 where the coding seems to be reversed?
@wilsonti7
@wilsonti7 4 жыл бұрын
It's fair to say that this didn't get into the details of altitude coding to as great of a degree as is desirable. I was able to work through an example with each of the two in-person sections of class that's using these videos. Maybe someday I can follow up

I love your bands tune "Straightjacket!!" Great sounding music that makes you feel a little uncomfortable. lol. I like the part where the notes on the keyboard go higher and higher like it were going to explode. Liked and subbed. I see you like "The Tubes" I recorded WPOD all by myself because I'm a huge fan. I didn't get the power outage. I started Shot in the Arm, but before the power went out, one of the security guys who I'd seen hassling other folks started heading my way, so I discreetly shut the camera off. And then the power went out. LOL.
