Hello Oliver, is that the N-scale Roco 23257? Coincidentally I also picked up a non functioning Roco V200 last week for the same price so I was wondering what’s wrong with them!

@@Ruka-f7k No, it's an HO-scale model. It was the gears on the wheels that had cracked and split.so I replaced them with new ones and cleaned the rest of the locomotive

Hello Oliver, you got a bargain and it looks smart. I would not worry too much about the noise. I expect it is the drive gears but the V200 was a noisy and powerful locomotive so you have a sound model at no extra cost!

One small detail is missing - the Caprotti engines had a valve on the left side of the dome which admitted steam to the undersides of the poppet valves when the regulator was opened.

Thanks, Andy. They're not easy to DCC fit locos with coreless motors You've got to make sure you get a decoder that supports a coreless motor and then get the settings right Would be a lot easier if Bachman provided instructions with the CVs to change But never mind I got there in the end

Out of interest what type of speaker did you fit?

@@russelljennings9319 it would be a 100-Ohm speaker to work with the old loksound 3.5 decoders. It was a low-profile speaker as there is not a lot of room available inside this loco. A newer decoder would need an 8 Ohm speaker it was a long time ago I fitted this loco with sound Hope this helps Kind regards Oliver

@@russelljennings9319 No, it is a standard model fitted with a 21-pin ESU decoder with digitrains sound files. I think it's an old 3.5 decoder. The latest is version 5

nice running session Oliver, the rapido with sound is definitely better than the hornby one, my hornby rocket when it does get used for a while takes alot of pushing and stop starting to get going again on dcc but once its going its fine, have you had this issue. Tom

@@northwesttrainsmodels I've found that my Hornby Rocket takes a bit of running before it gets going properly. I don't use it much as it is so hard to couple up and is so fragile.
