MJK was also probably the best Side Project beer I've ever had. Had it at the SP tap room in 2021. Also top 3-5 over all for me as well. So freakin good!

Totally agree! That beer is fantastic. Has to be in the discussion for both best Barleywine and best beer 🍻

had the same feeling with mine (shared a 400$ bottle), you guys ever tried the marshmallow handjee? how does it compare? I was thinking about getting it but I won't even bother if it's the same feeling
@arsenicculture11 ай бұрын
We have been fortunate enough to try one of the Marshmallow Handjee's a few years back. Comparing adjuncts I think we'd both agree that the Handjee had better flavor. The only words of caution I would say would be to get that one as fresh as possible. Maybe seek out next DLD release? Assuming they'd have that variant

Guys.. I heard from a pretty credible source that they were making their own yeast back then. But nowadays they buy it for a faster process. Thats one of the reasons why the older stuff was better.

You definitely have to try the two blind. Very much a difference in mouthful, oily at that. Flavors are similar but the NCF is just a amped up version of RB. More like a single barrel Russels reserve but I think better. I bought a bottle for $30.76 at the Niagara Falls duty free.

“First brewery come to mind for pastry stout …angry chair” Gunna have to disagree Toppling Goliath , limited releases, countless pastry stouts. They have the number 1,2 and 8 beer in the world that are pastry stouts Kentucky brunch has been the number 1 beer in the world before angry chair even existed and it’s been number 1 ever since.
@arsenicculture Жыл бұрын
That’s a fair point. TG has been around longer and (debatably) has the superior pastry stouts. But the first to come to mind for us when thinking of the current pastry stout scene was AC. Not saying their product is better. 🍻

This was a pretty interesting convo on the BCS variants and happy to hear the Prop was not what people would expect. I agree pineapple and banana in a stout would feel odd, but I like weird flavors. If anything a stout is exactly the type of beer you can do more weird and interesting things with. Great job gents!

Nice episode! I think you guys might like using glencairn glasses instead of the rocks glasses for these tasting sessions. Also letting the higher proof whiskies sit for a bit in the glass after opening let’s some of that initial alcohol evaporate and the nose won’t be as harsh. Just some friendly advice, cheers!
