I love this show and set up every year. This is one of the BEST insulator shows you will ever attend bar none. This hobby has the nicest and most caring people in the world. I am blessed to be in this hobby. God bless and safe and good collecting.🙏

It surprises me how many of these things are still where they were originally installed out in the wild. Many times when I'm off the beaten path I find myself wishing I had a ladder.

The penny impression was as simple as heating up the penny beforehand (and covering it in soot) then dropping it into the mold before the glob of glass from the furnace; all glass insulators (except for Duquesne Glass Co.) were molded in an upside down position so the plunger could come down and form the interior and pinhole.

If you could acquire old examples of electrical insulators from your area (especially glass) you could possibly be rewarded with money sales. Insulator collectors are always looking for unique styles or colors and will compensate you substantially if you have desirable insulators for sale.

My family has always had these around I have some now and my uncle has his whole out side wall lined with them and porch rails but never knew there was shows and others that took them this seriously makes me wonder if we have some good ones lol

@@insulatormpp that’s very true same with my marble collection to an extent and then you have the very hard to find ones like old German hand blown marbles or West Virginia swirls that’s expensive. I’m just trying to learn what’s rare and what isn’t friend
