18 degrees coldest riding with a 2004 harley riadking police from la crosse Wisconsin to st. Paul Minnesota in 2015. Debating on the goldwing for Wisconsin winters when roads are decent ,given sand on the back roads. Looking at a second bike for open solo rides ?
@keithertКүн бұрын
The Gold Wing might have a bit more wind protection than the Harley. I have since traded the Gold Wing for a Can-Am Spyder. I've ridden it in the low twenties. Stability wise it might be better than a two-wheeler for cold weather use. There's a guy on KZbin named Spyder Chris that is riding one as his only vehicle in upstate New York.

@keithert looked at mtc voyager for a bolt on for added stability, friends with can also as well. All based on Wisconsin roads with winter riding when temps are permitting to get miles on a cycle as well.

Could you talk about that windscreen? Did you put it on? Or did you find the bike that way? (I've never seen a Scram 411 with a screen and am curious.) Nice review, thanks. Good to see how the bike handles at +/- 70mph.

@@kellywilson8440 Good takes a few ks to get used to it every time I go out I come home with a big smile on my face. Pleased I purchased however I think I will now take a Spyder for a test drive to be sure I made right choice

5years on mine, never a problem with excessive vibration. 1st gear for a corner? you're kidding. 3rd gear for the slowest bend. This thing zings but never a problem with mirrors but who's looking in mirrors @ 140+? 1st is good for steep upgrades but on the flat you'll change up within 10 yards. Take off in 2nd no prob.

Just bought a new ‘24 model. I’ve ridden for 40+ years on everything from a Marauder 250 to a Honda ST1300: dirt bikes, cruisers, sport, and touring. At this stage of my life I want something small, easy to maintain, and can get me onto county and fire roads to go camping. My Mach 2 canyon carving, hair on fire days are over. I’m fine with slow and light to pick up if I go down on gravel roads. I looked at everything in this size and price range, while also considering local dealer servicing. The 300 was the best choice for me at 61 yrs old. It’s not a bike for everyone but it’s good for me.

I completely agree with all of your points. Despite being 57 years old and never having ridden a motorcycle or scooter before, I purchased my spider in March 2023 and had the opportunity to ride it this summer. I have always had a desire to ride but never had the chance to learn until now, and I absolutely love it.

I will say the 360 is more work to edit and publish. The Sena 10c Evo helmet camera is the easiest to work with.

I have been looking at different action cams this past year and haven’t decided yet. It’s down to the action 4 or 5 or a 360 cam for my motorcycle videos. This video really shows the difference and advantages of a 360 action camera. Thanks Keith.

@@Michael-st1hlI usually get a sandwich they call the homewrecker. It's a double hot dog wrapped in bacon and covered in gravy. This time I got an 8 inch across breaded pork tenderloin. I also got a nice pair of cold weather gauntlet gloves for $20.00. I've only been there during the week when there's hardly anyone there. But I do hear it gets busy on the weekend.

I have the same bike. After a lot of reading I was 50/50 on actually lubing a chain. I finally decided to NOT oil the chain. The chain on the bike IS sealed so all the lube actually helps is the outside of the chain rollers rubbing on the sprocket teeth. Since I do not ride in the rain, rust is not that big of an issue. So I currently have 5k miles on my bike and the chain has no excess stretching and all the sprocket teeth are fine.
@keithert4 ай бұрын
I also have a Royal Enfield interceptor. I have a lubed the chain every 400 miles or so with maxima. I currently have 12,000 mi on the original chain and sprockets.
