In that you started your channel to show friends and family what you do when metal detecting, and you’re serving that purpose, while at the same time enjoy making and watching your content, then you’re already winning. Your Maprika video brought me to your channel, probably because I’ve been delving in map overlays. A month later, (today), I’m watching vintage bicycle repair videos, and right there in the column pops up your Maprika video. 🤷‍♂ Go figure. Not sure what suggestions you’re referencing.

Instead of intro with grass, and then grass, and then more grass, a little something about where or what your detecting could provide some interest. Not until the very end could one figure it’s a modern park. It’s okay to lift your head and show the surroundings, unlike say a secret site. Even at secret sites, as long as you’re not divulging any spectacular landmarks, showing a little of the surroundings provides more interest than an entire video of showing ground and holes. All that gets you is a lot of fast forwarding which doesn’t help your algorithms. Good idea to show finds at end of video, including most of the trash in one pile. As detectorists, we get it, and gives non-detectorists or those contemplating getting into the hobby an idea that it’s not all gold and treasures. Anyway, I subscribed, 👍

Hey there, sorry about the slow response, I am not getting notifications from KZbin for some reason that there are comments on my videos. And to add to it at this point I had gotten burned out on the whole video metal detecting thing so I took a little Hiatus from it. I'll take your suggestions to heart and see what I can do about that as I am getting back into doing the videos now. And at the hottest time of the year here in louisiana! But I had in the past done a little intro that I thought was short enough and gotten some hateful comments about how it was boring and get on with the detecting and show us what you found. So I'm going to go after the video thing with renewed vigor in upcoming episodes. I don't really care about the algorithms, I'm not monetized even though KZbin has chosen to show ads during my videos, I have no control over that and I'll certainly let you know that I don't make any money off of it. But thanks for the view and the subscription.

Yeah, it's frustrating, I try to get good audio so everyone can hear the detector and me. I'm not much of a "talk to myself" kind of guy so it's tough to narrate sometimes. I like to give tips (like raising the coil) for folks that don't know about it but I don't want to come off as thinking I'm an "expert"... I'm not. I just need to balance everything our. And one of my other detecting buddies has said lots of folks don't care to see clad and trash dug, just Silvers and Gold. I'll never please them and won't try. I show some trash in each video because, well... we all dig trash and clad far more than we do treasure. Thanks for the support!

Believe it or not but the 8X6 S.E.F. coil works awesome on the Etrac, excellent separation of trash vs. goodies, and goes at least 8 to 10 inches deep. Plus, I have a very customized program that took about 8 months to perfect. And it is awesome. I get no iron, but can hear all the sounds, can hear iron, aluminum, zinc and still dig the target while not hitting on the baddies and digging only the crap. If there's no goodies in the matrix, then I don't dig 'em. Been detecting since 1960, got my etrac when they first came out. If there's a coin or piece of silver or gold in with all the crap, I will get it.

Yep, the E-Trac is a Silver Magnet for sure! And I expect this CTX3030 to do even better in the iron infested spots I hunt now. My E-Trac lives with the NEL Sharpshooter coil on it. I have all 3 coils (6, 11, and 17) for this CTX3030 though.

@AdventuresInMetalDetecting
@AdventuresInMetalDetecting Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! On the E-Trac and CTX3030, you get Fe (ferrous) and Co (conductive) numbers. The good range for Ferrous is somewhere in the 10 to 14 range typically (but not always) and Conductive numbers can be all over but typically a nickel is (Fe-Co) 12-13 and a copper penny is 12-43 or 44 and a quarter will be in the 12-46/47/48 range depending if clad or Silver. Hope this helps!

@AdventuresInMetalDetecting
@AdventuresInMetalDetecting Жыл бұрын
The CTX3030 is a lot heavier than the Equinox, but the weights not bad, not at all like most people are making out. The machine has its detractors that couldn't figure it out and they talk all the trash they can about it but if you have ever Swung one you'll agree that it's not horrible and it is really well balanced. I generally swing mine for 4 to 5 hours when I go out and Hunt. So if I can do that and not feel it I think pretty much anybody should be able to. I am 67 years old with a bad back, and this thing just doesn't bother it at all.

My hunts are almost always long ones. When I was in Florida and hunting in the water, it wouldn't be surprising for me to do 6 hours and I have done as much as eight hours on several of those hunts. However up on the dirt once I've done about 3 to 4 hours in this heat I am done.

Thanks. Yeah they were real interesting to find indeed. I had such a beautiful signal for the quarter and it was reading 6 and 7 in deep but I could tell that there was some rusty iron somewhere around it too. Using that fairly open screen with two-tone Ferrous is really an experience. If you swing a CTX 3030 or an E-Trac, you might want to give it a try. But I'm always amazed at the E-Trac's and now the CTX3030's ability to pull coins out of patches of heavy Iron and trash.

THANKS! The videos will improve, I ordered a new Akaso V50X actioncam, now i need to find a way to incorporate detector sounds and get a camera looking at the screen. I played with syncing the sound from one camera to two videos in this also, and i think it worked pretty well.I just went with coins mode for this first hunt, but I did do some pattern edits and I found it a bit easier to do on the fly than with my E-Trac. I got use to using the GPS features since I never played with that on my buddy's machine. The E-Trac has always amazed me with its ability to pick good targets out from amongst Iron and other trash and I already have seen that on 3 of the targets on this hunt. Thanks again for the comment and have a great day!
