Great run! Raft#2 should spend more time on the oars before rowing the MF at low water. But that's how you learn and you can't pass up a MF permit!
@westernsoutherner1Ай бұрын
Ah man I want to get out there now bad. Got a permit last year and launched a week after the big blowouts. Had to fly into Indian.

To minimize the potential for ending up in the wrong place, we always coached people to float to the top of the eddy from the scout, row across to the far right, and patiently drift along the right hand wall until you see your line. That gives you plenty of time to take a couple of upstream ferry strokes to the left if necessary.

i was on a sup with 8 rafts summer of '23 and the water was dark brown. after watching all 8 boats take the left line ( was shouting from the same vantage point), i chose the right side run. was a good choice.

try getting any customer service out of Viking company.they are the worst.

agreed! As far as I can tell customer service is nonexistent. No answer when called, voice messages not returned, internet inquiries not returned, all emails are blocked.

I have a solid floor on my cat made of marine plywood. In my experience, my feet stay dryer on my cat than on a raft. Water tends to hang around on self-bailers, whereas on my cat, the water that does make it past my cooler drains immediately.

the suits are not durable and nrs don't stand by their warrantee i had one that started to delaminate after 6 months using it twice a week a the stitching failed at the neoprene over cuffs and around the deck tunnel failed and the plastic around the zips disintegrated i will say the suit is comfortable and well fitted but mine didn't last. when i got on to customer services i was told that they had a change of policy and would not stand by the warranty and to just get another suit so i would not recommend them

Just rowed that rapid 7/24/23. I pulled right around Sevy’s… Commercial guys behind me went left, which looked like less work… flows at Boundary Creek at start were 2.12

Would have loved to see you use the stoves as part of the review? I'm curious about the range of control with the 10K BTU burner. Does it simmer well and how roughly how long does it take to boil, (I realize this is altitude dependent), so it would be amazing if it were compared to the coleman you mentioned. Thanks.

After operating a restaurant for 13 years, I highly suggest changing the order of the last two steps... sanitizing should always be last. If you are unsure about this, talk to your local health department. They will have very specifically documented steps for dish washing :)

Good review! I never knew they made special propane tanks for boats. This looks perfect. Much lighter, no sharp edges, no rust, good plastic protection and handle. Love it. Glad I found your review! ps - You have beautiful eyes!

Beware of putting a griddle where it sends heat toward the control valves. The biggest weakness of Partner stoves is how easy it is to cook the valves if you don't know about the poor venting issue. Folks use risers with griddles to prevent overheating. I've had to replace one manifold on a 4 burner PS stove due to having a valve fused and made unremovable. And I have another manifold that I managed to get the valve out, but which might also need to be replaced if I can't chase the threads. The hoses always require someone who knows the "secret" to pack up, so that's a big negative for group trips. And Parner's windscreen options are really a pain. I noticed you don't show any windscreen solution for your setup. (Follow-up) The valve threading is 5/16-40, and I was able to chase the threads to save an expensive manifold replacement. I also converted my non break-apart 2-burner stove using stainless break-apart hinges. I ground the rivet heads off that held the standard hinge and installed the new break-apart hinges. It's nice to have the break-apart function, but the hinges don't let the stove sit level in "suitcase" mode.

I spent over an hour on the high side of a raft wrapped on the rock you must miss at the bottom of the rapid. The water level was slightly less than what's shown here.

Catarafts are self bailing. Used catarafts are cheaper than used self bailing rafts. This is how I ended up with a cat 13 years ago.

Hello. Thanks. What do you do with the inner lid (the lid that seals the goods) when the unit is being used? I imagine the inner lid gets splashed from being on the boat and so I'm wondering how to deal with that. Thanks again!
